And it is how Stanley Woo locks threads with that as his closing line (maybe he likes that line from Tron?).

Exactly. :wizard:

Funny how my husband played this game and was secure in his sexuality to accept the rivalry points when he got them.
But then again my husband is not a bigotted homophobe.

Its okay to turn down the guy when its a creepy man going after a woman but when that person is of a certain sexual orientation our politics and loyality to he who is change demand we lynch those who disagree

Better yet - just take it like a woman who is frequently hit on by men she finds repulsive.

You just look foolish when you say things like that. Nothing wrong with turning down someone you're not attracted to of any gender. Complaining about the small rivalry hit is silly though. You can get past the whole thing in seconds and move on with your lifes.

I am not the only one and we both know this ...these forums have been on fire since this game was released we both been here as long and seen this. It seems though people have moved on and the game pretty much is being offered for cheap everywhere you see it because of the forced elements many people have wrote and complained about for months,.

With Dragon Age III still being run by the same team that put all this crap into the game you don't see this happening all over again?

The foolish part is not me starting a thread about a fan video but the mere presumption that I would dare come close to question the politics of the game which I didn't when I came in but everyone else who followed. ;)

Notice in the orginal topic which has not been edited I have added this is not a topic about this and that. It seems those who came after seem to troll and make it seem the topic was intented to be homophobic even though I posted orgininally this is not about that. Looks like some people just were looking to start a fight

Just saying

But that bolded bit above is indicative of...something. Along with your reference to the negative points.

If you wanted to post a link to a funny video, that's one thing. Just a simple "hey guys, this video made me laugh - it's DA2 related. Enjoy." would have sufficed. But your thread title, the negative points, etc put things on the wrong track. Hence, people responded.

Oh really so now we are assuming? So when people make a topic about a convserstial part of the game its not uncommon for people to say this topic is not about a, b or c but of d? And ask that people stay on topic?

What did I say in the orginal post? This topic is not about the negative rivarly points in which there have been numerous comics made poking fun at this scene and then I also mentioned this is not a debate about sexaulity in the game?. It seems you all have hijacked the topic and trolled it making it into the thread you were hoping for.

Again looks like some people were looking for a fight

The first time through DA2, I didn't even realise you could get rivalry points during that conversation because I could see where it was going an instinctively deflected Anders before he got that far. On a subsequent run, he hit on me, I turned him down, he eventually got over it and we became friends. This has happened to me IRL plenty of times.

The reaction of some people to earning a handful of rivalry points has made me realise that there are thousands of male players out there who have apparently gone through their entire lives without ever getting hit on by a guy who takes offence at being turned down. I wonder what that's like?

I guess had you really not wanted this thread to be about any type of debate, you could have just posted the link, as I had described in the quote above. Just left a short note. By peppering your post with a lot of disclaimers, you may have complicated things. Sometimes simple is best.

I don't know who's itching for a fight. Some people aren't amused by the video. Some people are tired of other people being upset by so-called negative points for an in-game conversation. People are going to express their opinions because that's what happens here in the realm of discourse. I haven't seen any fist-a-cuffs.

Again, if you wanted the thread to be about the video and how funny (or not funny) it is, it may have been better to just keep it short and sweet so that your intent, as you have described it, isn't misinterpreted. Just a suggestion though.

offensive b/c it's totally incorrect, for instance, and you are using these totally incorrect/overblown statements to criticize a particular part of the game which just happens to be m/m romances!

This was completely unnecessary.

Bioware is not forcing you to go to Pound Town with a terrorist mage. For all the complaints toward the game of not having any choices, The Choice to have a LI with someone is totally all on you.

Yes that’s why you should go and flame people and accuse someone of being a homophobe when the original message said this topic was not about that until people clearly made it into that

I guess had you really not wanted this thread to be about any type of debate, you could have just posted the link, as I had described in the quote above. Just left a short note. By peppering your post with a lot of disclaimers, you may have complicated things. Sometimes simple is best.

Or I could have mentioned in the original topic that this thread was not about a debate or the various controversies the game held but about a video. You know what I did and the rest of you just followed on trolling, flaming but you know what I think I know what the term Lynch Mob mentality really means.

Should I have added in pictures as well to my original warning so you wouldn’t all start flaming but again looks like a couple of you guys were just itching for a fight.

I don't know who's itching for a fight. Some people aren't amused by the video. Some people are tired of other people being upset by so-called negative points for an in-game conversation. People are going to express their opinions because that's what happens here in the realm of discourse. I haven't seen any fist-a-cuffs.

Hmm, maybe that’s why I added in the warning to my original post? So you see my warning not caring what its saying this is not about those subjects but you choose to fight anyways? I call that itching for a fight

Again, if you wanted the thread to be about the video and how funny (or not funny) it is, it may have been better to just keep it short and sweet so that your intent, as you have described it, isn't misinterpreted. Just a suggestion though.

How can that be when I warned against this in the topic title but people choose to not read and just start flaming again would this stopped you if all I had was the video from what it looks like you guys would of have been itching for a fight either way

I bet you think the Gay/Lesbian community should not be allowed to play games too. <_<

I pity prejudiced people like you. The world would be a better place if people just learned to accept people and get over it.

Dude, where are you ever forced to be gay? Anders will hit on you whether you're a woman or a man, it has nothing to do with Anders being "gay" so much as him being interested in Hawke. Guess what - this happens in real life. Isabela, it should be noted, hits on you if you're a man or a woman, too. Is that offensive? Are all flirtations automatically offensive?

Can I boycott games that force me to play straight? Or how about real life? I hate it when men hit on me, because I'm a gay girl!

If it was intended to be homophobic then it was trolling. If it wasn't intended to be homophobic then it wouldn't be posted at all. That's the problem. People think that being called an homophobe is an insult, but homophobia is a state of mind. It's the irrational fear for non-heteros. It is still insulting, though. But for another reason. Acting like a homophobe is insulting to those non-heteros. Confusing, isn't it? It's true unfortunately.
