I'm currently reading the Sellsword series and Artemis Entreri along with Jarlaxle have always been my favorite characters out of the whole Drizzt series. I was thinking of role playing this duo through the BG series. I was curious as to what classes they would be? Obviouly Artemis is human. Would he be a dual-class fighter/thief I assume? What level should I dual at? I'm not sure what Jarlaxle would be. I guess I was thinking thief/mage or swashbuckler. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I would have thought of Artemis Entreri as more like a fighter than a thief. If you think he should have thieving tendencies then why not make him a swashbuckler? Jarlaxle seems more like a pure thief (his magic abilities seem to come from using items rather than spells).

Well his actual D&D stats are fighter/rogue/assassin/ranger I think. I don't remember the level split. Yea I guess he does seem more of a fighter though he did have some stealth abilites. Maybe Stalker would be a good class for him. No thieving abilities but does get stealth and backstab. I dunno, food for thought. Your right about Jarlaxle now that I think about it. He abused the heck out of UAI...lol.

I agree he should have stealth abilities, but my memory of the books is that he seemed to disdain backstabs (wishing to show off his skills rather than just kill someone quickly). Similarly I wouldn't expect him to bother with poison (although you could argue his vampiric dagger is in a similar category). That's why I thought swashbuckler might be appropriate.

Artemis Entreri is indeed a fighter/rogue/assassin/ranger, respective levels 12, 4, 1, 1. This is impossible to create in BG, but from a rp-perspective an assassin dualed to fighter might be the best choice. Or you could simply pretend he's a halfelf instead of a human and make him a F/T., which would give you a far more powerful character.

Swashbuckler doesn't suit his personality, imo.

Don't we encounter Artemis in a battle someplace in ToB, or Watcher's Keep?

Yea, the unfinished mod allows him to show up in Bodhi's lair I believe and I think he's a multiclass fighter/thief. Here...let me jump on the game and just summon him real quick to see. Okay, I just started a fresh game and summoned him and then used that cheat that allows you to make any target friendly. He's just a plain thief but has grandmastery in long and small sword as well as full dual wielding! lol. There's no way to make this guy unless I cheat or go with a dual-class like thief/fighter like Flamedance suggested.
