I know the boots and gloves are bugged on all platforms, but there's a PC workaround. Is there any way to get them on the PS3?

The boots and gloves only exist as game resources, they do not exist in the game, there is no workaround for PS3.
The wiki does claim however that the entire set can be acquired as rare drops from special crow assassins around Amaranthine.
