Hi,

i was playing ME1 with the xBox.
Now i changed to PC since it is neccesary for the peace  between my hubby and me that we both can play ME3 when it comes out.
I thought im smart and bought it over Steam. Ok wasnt smart you cant get the AddOns through Steam like i could via xBox.
Now im kinda helplessly trying to figure out how to register the Game on this Account when the register games list doesnt even list it annymore and i seeme to have no other way to register it here? oO Realy? WTF?
Which leads to Problem 2:
Do i realy have to write to EA live support to get a key, for a FREE add on? now realy?
Those guys make some add on they dont even earn cash with and get tons of work cos they have to hand out every key personal? Thats not very economic....XD
I found some "solution" where i just set my ME1 key in both, some ME1 file and then use it as BDtS key.
So unfortunately im unable to find the file where i have to put in the key...

Cant they make getting AddOns as easy as it is on the Box? This is horrible....

So if someone could tell me how..
a) i get that damn ME1 resistered on this Account and
B) i can find that file where i put the key in (for noobs plz i have no clue how to find that damn file and the dude who did the "how to" somehow does think its so easy to find he doesnt need to explain any further....).
I think it would be important at that point: Im on Win7 64bit.

Thank you and sorry for the horrible english. ;)

P.S.: Will getting the ME2 AddOns be just as horrible? O.O

Oh I know what you mean. I decided to do the same, and go for a playthrough. Obviously though, someone isn't thinking since you can't get your game registered anymore, nor can you get the CD key.

Not on the site, and my other account has apparently disappeared so I can no longer get my cd key which was also revoked. Which is a pain, since my ME key is registered to my old account too. Oh and yes ME2 addons are just as bad.

Also, contact EA live support( http://support.ea.com/chat ) they'll kick you out a new key in about 3 mins.  While annoying as hell, it's tolerable.  Though a game that's still sold in stores is still legally required to be supported in most of the world, including if it has a form of 'active' registration and revocation of said keys.  Sadly it took me around 30mins to find that tidbit on my own, it's not in the faq, or on the top of the forums, or anything else.

Ye i bugged the support in the end.
I lost patience and i dunno what to say besides... OMG EA/Bioware/Whoever: Realy? Why???

I dont see why they just dont make it as simple as it is on the xBox....

Besides that, after haveing to find out Support site doesnt work with IE (lol? oO) i managed to catch someone in Live Chat who actually gave me a key realy fast and.. it worked! :o

Now ill enjoy the FREE AddOn for i dunno i think 30-60 min while i needed like uuh.. 4hours to make it work....
Irony strikes hard sometimes....

Honestly? It's stuff like this that drives people to piracy. When companies think that customers aren't customers, but cogs in the money machine. It's killed more than one business, nearly bankrupted others before they learned, and it's sure seems to be driving what's left of bioware to it as well. I think the last time I did BdtS I got around 1.5hrs out of it. But 4hrs to get something to work that should be simple is well...silly. Either revoke the key auth for it, or simply tie it to the base CD key system. It's been almost 4 years.

I did once say that it would take 2-3 years before EA's touch of death would start to kill bioware as quickly as it did past greats like Origin, Bullfrog, Maxis and Westwood. Looks like I'm right, which is rather sad.

Hey, guys, Steam provides you with a CD key upon purchase. I'm still trying to figure out how to register the game in order to download BDtS.

Ok, I contacted support live chat via the official EA website and received my key for BDtS. This took no longer than 30 minutes.
