Then...the extra information comes out over the Summer. Talk about players purchasing weapon packs, special armor, upgrades to increase vehicle production in bases with real money. Wait...what happened to all the free to play stuff? These bonuses are supposedly not going to give unfair advantages to players, but then why offer them? This kind of screws with the whole traditional Tribes gameplay too, since it sounds like players will have more narrow options in regards to the number of weapons and the freedom to pick weapons loadout for battles. And if some of the items or equipment is going to be limited to players who buy updates, that is just a poor marketing scheme to gain more money. Is it imposible for a company to make a game anymore that is just solid upon release and doesn't have pre-release locked content planned to taunt players into a slew of smaller later purchases to grant freedoms which should of been given on the game's initial launch?
I'm hoping Hi Rez gets their stuff together and the rumors about this junk and players paying money outside of game to unlock items or perks within the game. I was really excited to hear of a Tribes sequel being picked up when it was announced earlier this year but the latest rumors flying around just have me doubting this game will ever be near the experience offered in the first two games with all the customization options for weapon or armor loadouts. I deffinitely need more information before I come to a verdict on this game but is anyone else feeling hesitant about this release too?
