Ok I bought this via EA's new Origin program a good while ago. And up untill recently was able to play the game just fine. Even went through the hassle of fixing the unauthorized issue (this is DAO: UE btw). Recently however there was a problem and it told me to reinstall the game. I have done this multiple times now and it just keeps popping up with the issue saying There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall the game.

I mean, really? I haven't done anything to the program and I still don't know what caused this in the first place. And it is obvious that reinstalling the game isn't going to do anything. Not to mention it takes 3+ hours to install (wireless connection) and I'm tired of downloading a 27gig file just to have to re-do it again since Origin doesn't keep the installer.

Anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?

UPDATE: And just to put it out there, yes I have made sure Adobe AIR is updated, and yes I have made sure that the physx driver is installed correctly. And no I am not trying to patch over it. And no I will NOT sit through another download / install just to have this happen again.

Has anything changed on your system? Sometimes the strangest things can cause problems. For example, a few months ago one of the antivirus programs started erroneously quarantining one of the DAO files.

FYI, you can set the Origins manager to save the installer so that you do not need to re-download in the future.

I set the origins manager to do that but for some reason it never does. I went to the directory where it claims to be saving the stuff to but there isnt anything there. And no, nothing has changed on my computer. Only thing that has been done recently was re-seating the RAM. That antivirus that I have on here (microsoft security essentials) has been on here since I installed the OS.

It has gotten to the point where I dont think it is even installing, because its not in the add/remove programs list anymore. Maybe due to putting the DAO updater service in the registry? (one of the fixes for the DLC unathorized issue.)

Yeah, nothing is working. And it still isn't saving the install files to my computer anywhere. Bioware if you could kindly reimburse me the $50 I spent on this when it came out. Would like to be able to play something I paid for.

I'm not sure what you did with the registry. The only registry fix I know of was to add the CD key to the correct location. If it is not installing/uninstalling at all but was working correctly before I would suspect an issue with your Windows install, not the game.

There is nothing wrong with the windows install if it was working 3 days ago, and suddenly not working now. That doesn't even make sense to me.

The game was working fine, and as nothing in the game changed in terms of coding, the issue has to be with your system. As you did not respond to what exactly you edited in your registry, I can't say if that is causing your issue, but if the installer is failing completely then something else is wrong. There is a registry clean utility from Microsoft linked in the solutions round-up thread which may help. I highly recommend un-doing whatever registry edit you did.
