Before Horizon I would have been jumping for joy that the VS had became a Spectre and I would have said that they had earned it. After Horizon however, I don't really feel that way anymore. The lack of judgment, snap decision making, and inability to handle pressure would seem to indicate that something is missing in their character. They missed that they were frozen and I was not. They never asked about that or how I could do it. They never asked about the Collectors or any intel that I had on them so that they could protect other colonies. They never seemed to realize that Shepard saved their life as well as about 1/3 of the colony and drove off the Collectors. Further, they took less than three and one half minutes to accuse Shepard of treason before turning on their heels and walking away.
 
I believe that they both need a mental evaluation for stability under stress. If they can pass that then I withdraw my objection. But since I'm cooling my heels in an Alliance military prison awaiting trial for war crimes, it really isn't my call.

The best prerequisites for a Spectre are as follows (imho)

A Spectre canidate must have a:
 
1. Failure is not an option attitude.

2. Perform well under pressure.

3. Be culturally sophisticated.

4. Politically savvy.

5. Finally, they must be albe to kick some serious ass.

If they are lacking in any one of these areas, they are not Spectre material... Ashley Williams is a lethal combatant and when the Normandy was grounded she refused to give up.But as far as the other matters are concerned.That braud is a diplomatic incident just waiting to happen  I have very little confidence in her ability to handle the responsibilty and power that comes with being a Spectre.Kaidan Alenko on the other hand; I believe that he is Spectre candiate material.

Spectres must also have a certain gravitas, that compels others to fall in line.Does Ashley have that? I'm not so sure.Kaidan... perhaps.
