If it is, I hope it's some kind of DLC that you can get if you want to do that.

Mass Effect 3 is slated to release for PS3, 360 & PC on March 6th, 2012 in North America and March 9th, 2012 across Europe.

I'm more upset about this^^^. First time I'd read that:?:(

In this day and age I ask you?Image IPB

rofl, this again?

Maybe. Bioware have never unequivocally stated that Mass Effect 3 will not have multiplayer.

But if it does E3 probably would have been the best time reveal it.

According to earlier reports by Eurogamer, the four-player, “standalone” co-op mode will feature “competitive elements” and will be online – with reliable sources stating that the multiplayer will be akin to a Horde-style mode in which players must annihilate incoming waves of enemies.

Yes, yes, please let it be so!

If they do add co-op - which wouldn't surprise me as its now the policy of EA to have every game they release include multiplayer in some way, shape or form - then I prey to God that the achievements on the Xbox and the Trophies on the PS3 are kept well away from it and they remain single player only.

Well, I would certainly appreciate it. And having it as optional DLC could work.

I wonder how long it will take before someone throws a tantrum because the words "Mass Effect 3" and "multiplayer" were used in the same sentence....

Indeed.  I thought people will have learnt by now especially with Xbox360Worlds recent sensationalism on a rumour that caused a stir.   This is that all over again.

I hope so too, Cliffy B once said that the future of all genres are RPG elements. I want to see hordemode done in ME style, ofcourse it has to have not just the shooting, but also the TECH/BIOTIC aspect aswell.

It's actually been many weeks since I saw the last 'multiplayer in ME3' thread. Anyway BioWare repeatedly stated there will be no multiplayer in ME3. Unless someone comes up with proof that this isn't so, I believe BW when they say there is no multiplayer.

"Reliable sources" huh? <_

They are so kind to mention it being nothing but a "rumour", which seems to have evolved quite a lot. No official word from BioWare about anything related to multiplayer, thus I won't believe any of it.

Won't be surprised either way.

Won't really care either way.

Me, I'm holding out for a decent walking animation to the Elcor, and then do it in more than three seconds of background footage before disappearing into nothing.

No, they haven't. Which is why these rumors persist. They could cleanly and decisively kill this once and for all IF they were confident enough about their product development goals to say this simple sentence: "ME3 will not have multiplayer."

I find it amusing that they consistently make every desperate move they can to avoid making such a concise and unambiguous statement. Why?

(don't bother trying to answer, it's a rhetorical question)

It's either that or there will really be some sort of multiplayer. My guess is it's because of publicity.

Keep in mind that Bioware outright denied the existance of an ME 2 PS3 port. Later on as the question still persisted, Bioware started giving ambiguous answers. Then it was announced last Gamescom.

Lets not forget EA's statements about online comunities being the future.

EDIT: Also, remember the leak late last year which revealed ME3's existance a day before it was announced at the VGA's? It said that the Reapers are attacking Earth (which turned out to be true) and also said that multiplayer was in the game as well.

Stand alone would be fine...but my inner solo-type gamer is telling me it would interfere by diverting resources from the campaign. I'd rather NOT have it.

If we were to have it...I'd prefer it to be set on earth where four players play as nameless Alliance soldiers battling husks and other enemies during the Reaper invasion...in a horde-like fashion.

So you are speaking of some kind of zombie mode?

No one ever answers.

I don't care. As long as they do the Single player alright, I don't have any issue with whether it has multiplayer and co-op or not.
