Stand alone would be fine...but my inner solo-type gamer is telling me it would interfere by diverting resources from the campaign. I'd rather NOT have it.

If we were to have it...I'd prefer it to be set on earth where four players play as nameless Alliance soldiers battling husks and other enemies during the Reaper invasion...in a horde-like fashion.

So you are speaking of some kind of zombie mode?

Zombie mode from Call of Duty is a hoard-type mode...but husks is just one-type of enemy that may show up during a ME3 Horde mode on Earth.

Multiplayer has been denied about fourty times from the beginning of the creation of Mass Effect 3 and even during ME1 they said this Trilogy (sp) would not have multiplayer aspects.

Though its only logical to have Cooperative Multiplayer if any at all - though I think ME3 needs absolutely NO multiplayer what so ever! But if they DO have MP I hope its strictly cooperative mode where you and a friend or two can play the single player together or something.

If they do add co-op - which wouldn't surprise me as its now the policy of EA to have every game they release include multiplayer in some way, shape or form - then I prey to God that the achievements on the Xbox and the Trophies on the PS3 are kept well away from it and they remain single player only.

This, a million times this.
I play a lot of multiplayer, and even I hate multiplayer achievements. In fact, just the other day I was helping someone with their Halo 3 achievements, which was probably one of the worst offenders. There were some nigh impossible achievements, especially the ones that required ranked free for all. And then there were the map pack specific achievements that you could only get on certain maps, and there wre some you could only get on one specific map. :pinched:Incredibly stupid. I haven't met anyone with 100% achievement progress in Halo 3 who did not boost at least some of the achievements.

So yeah, no multiplayer achievements so you don't annoy those who don't play multiplayer. And the people who play multiplayer do it for fun and/or to play with friends. We don't need any annoying "extra incentive" to play.

No, it has not. There are also things to suggest that it in fact, will be present. The closest thing I've heard to "no multiplayer" is: "This is Shepards trilogy about stopping the Reapers". Will it be in? Maybe. I don't really care either way at this point.

Didn't they say no Multiplayer in the confirmed features thread?

Every time one of these threads pop up, I have one question I ask: what about time dilation?

No one ever answers.

They'll handle it the same way every other game that has time dilation handles multiplayer (dead eye in Red Dead Redemtion for example). By not having it slow down time. Adrenaline Rush would still give you a bonus to weapon damage and damage resistance, but doesn't slow down time. You can still charge, but there's no dilation after. Infiltraters don't get the passive slow down when they scope. It's certainly nothing game breaking if they take it out, gameplay is still the same quality. They would probably just adjust a few variables to make up for it's loss.

Yes, but that is based off of a vauge answer given to dodge the question. Bioware have never outright stated ME 3 will not have multiplayer.

In part because of time dilation, I don't think we'll be seeing a horde mode full of everyone's Shepards.  I envision selectable characters like squadmates and important NPC's, all with their own weapon loadouts and power sets (like Mercenaries Mode in the Resident Evil series).

Nor have they ever outright said that it will have multiplayer.

There is no grounding to any of these RUMOURS. Now that that's out of the way, feel free to open a thread discussing the Rumours.
