The lost and damned for GTA4 was pretty crappy, the Da Vinci Disappearance for Brotherhood was too.

There isn't a DLC out there that would satisfy you at this point.

Why are people equating a 15-20 hour game to DLC? I get that you didn't like DA2, but come on. Transparent bashing is transparent.

DA2 was a full game? for real?

Hm.. I generally don't get too many DLC...

But I didn't ever get alternate appearance or firepower packs.

All Origins DLC made my eyes bleed. Honourable mention for ME2 Overlord.

I don't buy DLC unless I'm pretty darn sure I'll like it, so none have been crappy.

I don't buy most DLC's especially if there bad. Discounting crappy little ones like feastday pack (which is free in Australia anyway), I'd say Leliana's Song. What a piece of crap! Just one big combat grind in re-used location, and added barely anything to Leliana, as well as being full of glitches. Seriously, worst DLC ever. Witch hunt was redeemed because i liked the Finn and the circle part, and it tried some things different to the normal DLC formula.

All these people mentioning Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLC have you even downloaded DLC for other games? lol they aren't even close to being some of the trash developers expect people to pay for. I guess spoilt children will always complain the most xD. For me had to think a long time and although it didn't cost anything for me the Mirror's Edge DLC was the worst. Just a map pack for the time trial feature. I mean is that the best they could come up with? When i heard mention of forthcoming DLC i was excited thinking "hey maybe they'll add on a new mission that'll extend the game somehow" but no all they did was a map pack. But i guess it could be worse like the overpriced map packs some developers throw out.

Your complaining and yes Mass Effect and Dragon Age series are the first time I've actually bought dlc. Oh and Civilization 5 but I decided to stop buying their new dlc and I've spent more time playing as the spanish or babylonians then playing Witch Hunt.

Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage: The virtual reality in Operation Anchorage had some great potential but its implementation wasn't satisfactory as it showcased the limitations of Fallout 3 as a straight FPS game. The VR part itself introduced some beautiful snowy landscape but it was extremely linear, somehow repetitive and ultimately boring so finding the way back to the DC Wasteland was actually a relief.

Oh and, Witch Hunt. I was promised a satisfying conclusion to my Warden's story, yet I got a giant ad for Dragon Age 2, even more questions than answers, and Morrigan was in it for about five minutes. Posted Image

Arrival: After LotSB, I was expecting something of the same caliber. And it doesn't progress the plot in any way. We already know the Reapers are coming.

Of course, who doesn't love wasting their money on co-op side missions and map packs? Oh and can't forget Fable 2 + 3 and GTA IV DLC, when the vanilla games are that good I was practically gagging for story DLC. Oh, wait...

Ironically enough, that's considered to be the best stand-alone Origins DLC by many(including me).

Feastday Pack. I wish I could get my money back. It totally messed up the approval - added 50 points, but changed the status, e.g. Zevran got +50 but changed from 'care' to 'friendly' and remained so no matter what. The only fix was to load the save from before I gave him the stupid gift. >:(

Every single item pack ever made to nickle and dime the consumer and bleed your wallets/bank accounts dry.

Worst example is Sims and XBL+PSN and such but Bioware getting as bad these days with item packs for ME and DA franchises; real money for virtual items... $1 for virtual cardboard box, $10 for virtual t-shirt, $5.95 for a virtual sword or $50 for virtual gold for virtual characters in a fictional game.

People are free to spend their money on whatever, but the question was asked worst DLC ever purchased and while I can't recall purchasing any in recent history, I do consider them the worst by far types of DLC that someone could purchase.

Even the most crappy story based DLC is far superior to pretty much any item packs DLC imho.

OA was kinda dull but it made up for it with the loot at the end.

Robot Revolution for Borderlands was also a little mediocre too, after playing Secret Armory RR just looks weaker and not nearly as fun as you'd hope to expect. Plus fighting claptraps got really annoying towards the end.

Arrival; I really wanted to love this DLC especially having got a little hyped for it and with the sizable gap since Lair of the Shadow Broker was released. However despite it's potential it ended up having some poor writing, gameplay decisions (Shepard has to go alone to make up for squadmates not getting any new lines) and generally a missed opportunity to make characters like the returning Hackett and Dr Kenson have some lasting impact which they didn't.

The Object Rho fight is still a fun battle though.  ^_^

Witch Hunt and Awakening were bad as they were glitchy and didn't explain anything.

But the worst DLC has to be Mothership Zeta I can't even describe how bad it is.

Well IMO I thought it was pretty cool.  I liked the different setting.  I understand people's complaints though.  Turn the great exploration of Fallout into a corridor shooter.  But a nice change of pace was cool.
I guess if I had payed for it instead of held out for the GOTY edition I might be thinking like you /shrug

I can understand how some people like Zeta for the change of pace but for me it's awful. Mainly the bugs, characters and plot are what annoyed me about it.
Oh and you are correct I bought it when it came out.

LOL. Really?

Out of all the churned out crap Bioware released after DA:O, Awakening was the only DLC worth bothering with. And even that wasn't brilliant.

I never bought DLC (exept for the DLC you'll get when you buy a Goty edition of the game), but I find DA2's The Exiled Prince (one of my friends bought DA2 and most of the DLC, and I played it on his PC) one of the worst.

The missions in it were too short, and incredibly boring. Also, just because Bioware forgot to put an archer in the game, doesn't mean I'd like to pay another $7,- for one. I find €50,- (that's what the game costs here) already way to expensive.

I heard Oblivion's DLC is pretty bad as well though...

I enjoyed Leliana's Song, maybe because it was a change of pace from the Warden but then not playing the Warden could be why some people disliked it.

Golems and Witch Hunt should've been included in the Awakenings campaign rather than separate releases, Darkspawn Chronicles is an idea that would've been better staying on the drawing board and Awakenings itself was an alright expansion despite being comparatively shorter than Origins.

That also sums up my philosophy on DLC. It's relatively expensive, so I've no intention of touching it without checking metacritic and friends' reception. And my own personal gut insinct as well. I've yet to be dissapointed.

At full price: Witch Hunt
on super cheap sale: Pinnacle Station

I've bought AAPs for ME2 and consider them money better spent.

The alternate outfit packs for vanilla Street Fighter IV. I should have checked out more of the outfits in advance, because most of them were rendered too poorly or too goofy to use on a regular basis. I also splurged on the most expensive set to get everyone's alternate costume despite my focus on three characters. :P I would not go so far as to say I felt ripped off, but it was mediocre and a great example of why impulse buying can have consequences.

Lelianna's Song that one didn't even follow the story she gave us, I wanted to see Orlais dammit! And Darkspawn Chronicles that was just ugh. Oh and those outfit packs for ME2, bioware I don't like having to pay for outfits you could've put in the game in the first place...
