So i played thru normal with my mage which was fun but now i want to try it on NM setting. But the thing is im finding it incredibly difficult to level up on NM.
I done the money guide thingy and have RoF's (1 in varric and 3 in a shield for iron jaw woman) but i just seem to struggle trying to compete. My party die pretty easy which is soooo annoying, so could any one throw some advice my way ? or link me to a thread with this kind of descusion ? (I 'm sorry if there is already a thread on this somewhere)

Experience is not affected by difficulty. and leveling does not make the game easier. It actually gets harder as you level. If you're having difficulty, pick one of the class guides for tactics, gear, and skill recommendations.

Have you played the game much with other classes or was the mage play on normal your first?
If so I would recomend reading some good mage guides on these forums and then playing on hard. Your just not ready for nightmare yet if you havnt beat the game a few times imo.

I've only played a mage on DA2 once and yes on normal only.
I have looked thru a couple guides yeah and builds. (been using Arelex' s mage build and guide as i did on normal play thru)
Tho after i posted this last night i decided to give it a go again and this time round found my survivablity (sp?) much better. Found pulling a few enemys away at a time was alot easier then just rushing in !
Im going to stick at NM setting still, never had a game beat me before

Cool. Let me know how it goes. Most of the general knowledge section of the solo mage guide is not specific to playing with companions, so you should find it helpful. Also the gearing choices for the different acts should help.

So your guides helped with a few things for sure ! so thank you for that.
But what im really struggling on is the 3 Golems on daneken's floor >_< wow they are insanly hard on NM.. i just can not do them !
Any tips on how to go about doing them ?
