You mean the one's the Batarians would no doubt wipe out once earth is gone?

What batarians? You mean those that were in the same system the Reapers arrived in? Yeah, good luck.

Lives don't really matter when you're considering the post-Reaper invasion might be worse in some scenarios.

What did they lose? 300,000?  I hadn't heard they lost more than a colony Shepard bew up.

We've already lost Earth, it's been devastated by the Reapers...

Well maybe, but we don't know that. The Reapers want to harves it, not destroy it. That means it will take them time. I'd be more worried about mass indoctrination than I would destroyed infrastructure.

Regardless, if we've lost Earth then we've lost our place in the galayx. It is time to consider collaboration with the Reapers. We are the only people who stand to gain anything from it.

Without Earth humanity will be left weak in a galaxy soon to be saturated by Reaper tech. We'll find ourselves at the mercy of the other races.

Dave of Canada wrote...

Which is why we're running the show with the Volus at our backs, they offer us control of the galactic economy (they are the ones which introduced everything to everybody).

The volus offer us the galactic economy and we offer them... what exactly? We'll be too poor and too few to provide them with the needed security. The only reason they ever started looking more favorably on us was because we were strong. Without Earth we'll be weak and weak nations are not very desirable allies. Certainly not the kind of allies the volus or salarians desire.

The loss of Earth could easily mean a new golden age for the turians.

To master Reaper tech will involve large investments of capital, capital that we won't have.

Just to keep our remaining worlds safe and our fleets in operational condition (whatever fleets we have left) we'll need to sell our sovereignty to other races. Either literally or in essence by requiring them to fund us. We'll be losing territory the and resources the whole way as well.

With 99% of our species dead we'll have no ability to continue expanding and will be actively shrinking.

Human can survive without Earth, for a while, but not as a major power.

The other races will master Reaper tech, change beyond recognition, and sweep us away in the tide...

That is life -.-" or what everyone should have, since they were brought to this world.
Also, if you are dead... nothing of this matters

Earth equals humanity, so no. I'm in this to save humanity.

In fact, if a situation where sacrificing the Earth means saving the galaxy should arise, I'm abandoning my main pursuit of fighting the Reapers and throwing everything I have on protecting the Earth. Because all the other species will be trying hard and fast to sacrifice us to save themselves. And they will be ruthless about it. And they will unite together for this special occasion, first time in the history of the galaxy. And they won't even ask anyone to do any quests for them to unite each other.

Actually, this is the only situation which would cause me to ally with the Reapers. They will be protecting the Earth, too. Their human Reaper will be situated there, because the main supply of the humans is there, and it will not be easily transportable.

There is hope for you.

Surrender while you still can. Ensure that humanity's faith in you, was not misguided.

My Shepard may very well consider working with Harbinger now that the love of her life is trying to kill her(TIM).

Yes, because there are tons of humans in other places, so you wouldn't be dooming the species to extinction.

Population of Eden Prime as of 2183: 3,700,000

Population of Terra Nova as of 2183: 4,400,000

Population of Earth as of 2185: 11,400,250,000

Humans have only been colonising other planets for 30 years or so. The oldest, most popular and most prosperous colonies out there like Eden Prime and Terra Nova have populations of only a few million. Earth is where over 99.9% of every human lives.

If you sacrifice Earth you're left with less than 1% of the human race.

Except Saren already proved surrender is a bad idea.

I'm not exactly opposed to a turian golden age, actually.

The thought of working with the Reapers did cross my mind. Which is a testament to how unhappy I was with the whole "Cerberus is the enemy now" plot twist.

I might do it yet, depending on how badly they handle Cerberus situation in the game. If I can't have real fun, I can at least watch the galaxy burn.

Fair enough.

If you do indeed join the enemy, do so for your own reasons instead of the supposed inevitablity of their victory.
