True, funny you should mention other Relay accidents because i said a similar thing in another thread, where i'd reduce total alien population to the same as Humanity's post Earth sacrifice.... only way to be fair.

"Fair" is a word that does not exist in politics, there is no such thing as equality as either. You are either on top or under as a nation ( or race in ME ).

Personally as I said earlier I wipe out all the Council fleets in the Battle for Earth while saving the Alliance...perhaps even the Quarians, Geth and Krogan as well. I trust Wrex at least. ( though I would never give him a full genophage cure ).

My friend and I believe that the Krogan, Quarians and Humans should band together to survive and prosper post Reaper invasion.  I hope that Grunt "ignores" the Genophage by introducing genes into the Krogan genepool that reduce the number of offspring female Krogans can have. (altering future birth rates to nearly the same as other species)

PS. seems like current Genophage works too well.

I agree on the Genophage working too well but a full cure would mean the Krogan creating a too large population.

As for the Quarians and Geth, they have the potential to suprass humanity by a lot in terms of techonology, that is why it would be best to have them both survive ( if they can both be trusted that is ) so act as a fail for each other.

This thread is the reason why I cannot wait for planet Earth's genuine extinction cycle to pick humanity.

There are 5 million plus animal species and 250,000 plus plant species living on this planet - not just some up-jumped arrogant monkey.

===

Given the hypothetical that my decision alone decides the fate of space faring species...

No, I would not sacrifice the Earth biosphere to destroy the Reapers.

Once the Reapers are done with their cycle - the Earth biosphere will remain and possibly produce another sapient life form, maybe not. Other planets certainly would - and human level intelligence is not "the goal" in my not at all humble opinion.

Perhaps I'm the ultimate Utilitarian - the needs of the many truly outweigh the needs of one talking monkey species.

That isn't to say I wouldn't fight against the Reapers until I was destroyed - but such a simplistic decision of "destroy the Earth biosphere and kill the Reapers" - I could not condemn that level of biodiversity to annihilation (and it's not even extinction - extinction "can" imply that species simply altered a form - like dinosaurs to avians.)

If it was the only way to stop them, then yes. As the human race is done for anyway if you dont. But I doubt that would happen, it's not really a choice. Save Earth and let everyone die anyway, or let Earth get destroyed but save everyone else.

A very good question. My first instinct is to say yes, I would sacrifice Earth if it meant stopping the Reapers permanently.

But would a No automatically mean the Reapers would never be stopped? Not necessarily, but I prefer the guaranteed victory, not a possible victory.

Yes. My character would sacrifice every species on every world to stop the reapers. No cost is too great.

I would sacrifice Earth even if was just for a free slice of lemon meringue pie, regardless of if Reapers were at the metaphorical door or not.

The Reapers are every where in the galaxy, so the only way to destroy the reapers by sacrificing a planet would be to lure them to that planet. I would rather pick a different planet like Thessia to lure them as the Asari would be able to recover faster as a race than humans.

Au contraire, mon frère, their pride is what keeps getting in the way of their survival as a race time and again.

Or not, since they're constantly sucking it up. If anything, it's humanity's pride and their so-called "rightful place in the galaxy" BS that's stopping them from getting anything done.

Rannoch, Freedom's Progress, Haestrom and the Alarei; all fine examples of how the quarians' pride and incompetence got the better of them. Now if only their balls, because they do seem to have those, allowed them to defy the Council and settle somewhere.

And what's wrong with our pride? Last time I checked we actually got stuff done in the galaxy. If anything, we deserve to lead - rule over, if you will - the other races.

We can't even keep our own house in order.

We're pretty much the only race able to keep our crap together.

Yes I would. Life is what I'm fighting for, I'm fighting for a galaxy that doesn't have every sentient race utterly destroyed every 50,000 thousand years. I'm fighting for all the future generations of beings that are going to be alive because of what I did.

If Earth has to fall to stop the madness once and for all than I'd do it.

Yes. Again I think that if there was any way to stop the endless cycle go galatic genaside, I'd take it. Also isn't it a   d!ck move to be to save earth but lose everything/everyone else in the galaxy, or have the addetude if Earth can't be saved then everyone in the galaxy isn't worth saving.
