*Spoiler warning*

I'm trying to kill Shepard (*gasp, blasphemy* I know, but I've played through the game several times now and I just want to see the ending) so I'm not doing any loyalty missions or getting any ship upgrades.

The only loyalty i've done is Tali's, but I only did it to take Legion for the lolz, and I gave the Admirals the evidence and didn't get Tali's loyalty.

So i've gotten the IFF, and EDI is installing it, but the abduction scenes won't trigger. I've spoken to and at least logged that every other crew member wants me to do something (except Legion, because I know accepting his mission delays the suicide mission), but EDI won't tell me to take the shuttle, I just get Kelly telling me that Legion wants to speak to me.

What do I have to do to get the abduction to trigger? Is there a specific number of side/N7 missions I have to do or will it just not trigger without speaking and doing Legion's loyalty mission?

Thanks in advance!

:D

Scratch that, I just saved the crashing MSV Broken Arrow and then went to explore the SR1 wreck and then EDI interrupted me. Cheers, EDI!

Hey, one thing to ponder on, why does Shepard suddenly think "hey guys, even though we just installed an unknown and possibly dangerous bit of Reaper tech in our multi billion credit frigate, why don't we all go for a nice day trip in the shuttle?".

That's more of a rhetorical, I've got a Commander to kill.

You may want to ask/look here: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/5855452

But do some side missions. Who do you have recruited?

Thanks for the link anyway, it's triggered. I've been looking up and down that post but I just couldn't find any solid answers. I've got every party member, including Zaeed and Kasumi. But thanks again :)

Should be easy. Remember to kill the best "line" defenders: Garrus in the Vents, Zaeed as second fire team leader. An easy way to kill Grunt is to pair him with Mordin during The Long Walk.

Thanks for the tips! The amount BioWare marketed how dangerous the suicide mission was supposed to be, and it turns out it's actually incredibly hard to kill Shepard haha. I'll save first and keep trying different tactics.

You can always use the Suicide Calculator and play around with it. It took me a few minutes to come up with a way to mercilessly slaughter the entire crew, but you have to know what you are doing and intentionally do dumb stuff (like Garrus in the vents, for instance.)

Best way I can think to screw it up: Garrus in the vents, Zaeed for leader, send an unloyal Grunt to guard the crew, and bring anyone except Kasumi, Mordin, Jack, or Tali with you for the long walk. Those are the weakest people, if you want to have everyone die, save them to hold the line. They'll all die. Bring anyone except those 4 as well for the final battle, that will make the line as weak as humanly possible and everyone will end up getting killed, along with the two people with you (since they're not loyal).

Yeah, but the crew lives. Grunt + Mordin on the Long Walk guarantees Grunt dies, then you don't have to send an escort = dead crew.

Here's a good one:
Kasumi + Tali to the Oculus fight: Legion dies due to shields.  (This is important, Legion has defensive value, Tali/Kasumi do not.)
Garrus in the vents
Zaeed for second fire team leader: finished Vido's job for him
No Escort
Mordin + Grunt on the Walk: dead Grunt

This leaves you with Tali, Mordin, Jacob, Kasumi, Samara, and Miranda. Taking Miranda/Jacob/Samara and leaving the rest results in everyone except Joker dead.

Hmmh, I'm picking the escort now. Kasumi died instead of Legion, so now I have to get rid of Grunt, Legion and Zaeed. I've selected Zaeed to be the 2nd Fire team leader, Grunt and Mordin will come with me on the Long Walk with Jacob as the Specialist. I need to send Legion with the crew to keep him out of the way, but he'll die because he's unloyal. I'm pretty sure the crew don't count towards Shepard dying, right? They can't appear to help him up?

No, the crew doesn't matter with Shepard dying. Only people that matter are squadmates. You want to ensure he dies, send an unloyal squadmate (one of the toughest) with the crew, and bring your strongest teammates with you for the final fight.

The page linked above by someone else, the numbers on the right-hand side explain everyone's rating for strength for holding the line, in case you're wondering where our numbers are coming from.

Yeah, I've been staring at them for 3 hours haha. Right, I'll kill Grunt on the Long Walk, Zaeed will fail as 2nd Team Leader, and Legion will die escorting the crew back. I'll take an unloyal Miranda and Jacob to the final boss, which will leave Tali, Samara, Mordin and Jack to hold the line. Everyone will be dead and Joker won't be able to pull Shepard up on his own. Have I got that right?

Or would Miranda and Samara be a smarter choice - Jacob is more likely to die holding the line than Samara, isn't he?

Double-checked it with the calculator. Sending Legion off to escort the crew will do the job. You'll end up with Samara, Miranda, Tali, Mordin, and Jacob to choose from for the final battle. Samara/Miranda/Jacob are the 'better defenders' of this weak bunch, so take two of them.

Yeah, going on the Suicide Chart by Maelon (http://img203.images...ssionfinal8.jpg) Jacob will die before Samara, so taking Samara and Miranda to the final boss seems like the smarter choice.

Wait, why is Jack still alive?

Anyway, no difference. Jacob is just as likely to die as Samara on the line.

Sorry, I got confused, it's 5am haha. Yeah, Jack is dead. I'll try it with Jacob then.

I did "Team Cerberus" once at the final battle. It was actually pretty fun. Incendiary ammo helps take down the Baby Reaper and you get warp bombs.

If you really want to give the finger to the galaxy, save the base while you are at it! :o

This is win.  Screw over the galaxy and your entire team, and then promptly die.  Sounds like a plan XD

Only one of my Shepards is handing over the base, and he is the only one that is pure, unfiltered, 100% Renegade.  It's the hardest playthrough I've ever done, and that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it's my first serious Insanity run.

I'll definitely hand the base over, seriously, this galaxy is screwed haha. I'm pretty OCD about getting 100% survival rate after I lost quite a few people my first playthrough, I just wanted to see what it would be like - fun, so far!

Yeah, my first playthrough I was assuming everyone not loyal would die. Thane, Jacob, and Jack I didn't do the loyalty quests for, I left them all to hold the line, and as the final cutscene is starting up I get the achievement thing on the bottom (I play 360) with the achievement for everyone surviving... I was like "wait, wtf? How?" and then I went and looked into the math of it. Grunt, Garrus, and Zaeed hold up so much of the line, only one other loyal person (doesn't matter who) down there with them and everyone at the line survives (assuming EVERYONE so far had survived).

If you get rid of the three of them early on, and nobody is loyal, the line will crumble and fall down harder than a sack full of lead bricks.

Well, that was fun. Everybody dead, including Shepard, and the base handed to TIM. Somehow, the ending with Joker seems to work better... I should probably get some sleep anyway, thanks for the help guys!

Oh, one last thing, why is there an achievement for keeping everybody alive which is actually really easy, and not one for killing everybody? That's the real challenge! Haha.

Grunt is so awesome, that under the right circumstances, he can hold the line all by himself, even if he's not loyal. (he has to be the only one, though--if there's other people there, he'll end up trying and failing to help them and die instead)
