OK WRONG FORUM!


For a year we played the original release Origins, then added Awakening. Our first game was still saved and playable, with a male mage (Arradon) and Alistair 100% in love, he never treated him as a girl.

I bought the Ultimate edition, as I could get it cheaper than buying all the DLCs separately, and now can’t gay romance Alistair.

I am very very miffed, loving a girl and having flings with Zev just ....sigh
I want Alisatir

I have not dreamt this. My man is miffed too, while not as deeply upset as me (well he’s not besotted by Alistair, though he does like him) he finds it odd that the gay relationship’s been removed and sees something sinister behind it.

we know Bioware are happy with gay relationships, after all the most powerful one is the gay Anders one in DA2, so?????

Something devious happened, and I want to know what and why

Maybe Alistair thought he was a girl? It is pretty dark in the camp and magi tend to wear skirts...

Seriously, while DA2 LIs swing both ways, Alistair and Morrigan are supposed to be straight. Anything else is a glitch.

Alister gay romance? I thought only female characters could romance him as it says on Dragon Age wiki.

I belive the issue you have refers to a old bug that rarely happened in unpatched versions of the game.

The Ultimate edition patches the game to the most recent patch and fixes many of these issues.


Alistair is never intended to be Gay, Zevran swing both ways though along with Leilana.

well whether it was intentioned or not, the bug made the game enjoyable so I have dug out my old original Origins and my male mage (having tarted himself around everyone possible) is romancing him once more

For my next run through I shall be female and marry the (alternative to real life spouse) man of my dreams, but that's a long way off.

I personaly enjoyed the Zevran and Morrigan romances, the Leilana romance reminded me too much of real ones I had and how creepy those girls were *Shudder*.
Im still to mad at Alistair for dumping my origenal character after the landsmeet.

you obviously said the wrong things to him, tell him being king's not a punishment or somesuch and he is delighted with you, and you all live happily ever after ... or sort of.

Just go to the Nexus and get a mod or three. You can make Alistair not only gay, but even willing to marry you and let you share the throne with him. That's the beauty of the PC version: there are mods for darned near anything you can think of.

oh I know you can do that, but it's not what I originally played .. and I quite like that he can only marry according to the rules (at least there's no virginity tests!) because that's realistic

seems like there's still a bit of a glitch
while Mark and I are playing our original game together with Alistair and male mage happy together but no being "queen", he's also playing the Ultimate edition with the same character, and and while there's no chance of them getting together something odd did happen when I was watching:
he inadvertently clicked on Alistair, as you do, and in the deepest adoring tone Alistair said "my love" ......
made me go all woolly
