Just seen the game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines. OMG!!!

Bioware, can I have an Omni-Chainsword that allows me to gut enemies like that in ME3!! Hopefully with sickening execution moves in slowmotion as well!!

Oh the gore:wub:, the carnage! <3

I just cant help but shout "For the Emperor" and rush into battles regardless of the odds!

ME3 needs to live up to the Mature rating by allowing us to butcher enemies like WH40K:Space Marines!!

When I downloaded and played the demo for most of it all I did was mash the B button. Mainly because I felt the weapons wernt nearly as effective as the chainsaw!  Yes the ork's died in a explosion of blood and it was all visual.   Hmmm sound a bit like another Bioware game the more I think about it...

;)

Regardless I would rather hope ME3 is more sophisticated. The three chain melee and of course the omni-blade attack appears to make it less a mash of buttons.

So they basicly re-invented the awesome button?

And there are people hailing it?

Oh swell....

(note: No, I haven't played the spacmarine demo, so wouldn't know. I'm just going by what people are saying here...)

I don't want anything that's even remotely associated with that game to be used in ME.

It works for Space Marine, but in-combat gore really isn't something Mass Effect does. I don't particularly want to hit someone with a Omni-Blade and see them explode.

Or for that matter shoot an enemy and see an obscene amount of blood being splattered against a wall. ME is quite sparing in where you see blood compared to the vast majority of shooters and I think it works in it favour.

While Space Marine is a brilliant game, I disagree fervently!

Space Marine and ME3 are two completely separate games. The only similarities between them outside of sci-fi tropes is that both are TPS's set in the future.

They both have different goals for gamplay, different styles, different engines, different enemies, different, tones, and different protagonists. So no. It does not fit, ME3 should not rip off game mechanics from them, and you are probably just asking because you are still in the euphoria of playing a new game. It happens all the time.

Really everytime a new game comes out, someone always says that another game should copy them. I am sure Bioware devs can take something from space marine to improve future games (like pacing, the game does pacing very well) but just taking mechanics from one game or another does not equal improvement.

Just look at ME2, the gameplay is arguably better tham ME1, but it wasn't an improvement, it ripped its old gameplay out completely and put in a system used by most TPS.

My Shep stays away from melee. No wonder when Simo Häyhä is her idol. B)

 Actually I do not think it is that brilliant. If someone make a game like that without the Warhammer banner... it probably wont receive that much attention.

Somehow the gore and carnage got me a little too excited but after cooling down a little... it would be awkward to have those execution moves in ME... I will surly die before I complete the execution. ;)

I love the mechanics of Space Marine. I played the demo (and will be picking up the game for sure) but a friend of mine was expecting GoW type play, and was disappointed.

The point being, WH40K:SM has great action, great gameplay, and that fits for that game. The combat in ME2 really fits within the ME universe, and helps the team to tell the story they want. They're two completely different games.

Much in the same way that BW doesn't make RPG's, they make games that tell the story they want. If they want the button mashing and combat in one of their games, they'll do it. But it just doesn't fit the trilogy.

If only Cerberus had rebuilt Shepard 8ft tall and at 750lbs...

I don't think they really need excessive gore in Mass Effect. Although you do explode synthetics and burn people alive already.

Love that demo but it would't fit Mass Effect at all.

SPEEES MAHREENS wouldn't fit ME3 at all. While I just loved the demo, the two are playing pretty differently from each other.

Agree it doesn't fit in ME series. However mele button is actually "awesome button" unlike DA2.
