Hello all I purchesed DA:O Ultimate edition on my birthday and I have been trying to figure out how to get the downloadable content off the disc. I put in the second disc and it didn't give me any option to download anything so I went to start where I could select to play the game or go to the marketplace and picked the download option. I downloaded the awakeing disc and still no dlc. Please help.

As I understand it the dlc is on the second disc of the Ultimate Edition. When you pop it in you should be presented with a menu that allows you to install what you want. You do not download anything from the XBox Live marketplace (not that I am aware of). Anyway, I would suggest you try again to see if the menu pops up.

The nature of dlcs (even though they are on the disc) does mean you will need some sort of storage device like a hard drive. I don't think they can be played off of the disc, but I may be wrong. Perhaps another owner could clarify.

I did pop the second disc in but no pop up menu comes up. I am confused. Maybe my disc is malfuctioning.

That is possible. As I understand it there was/is a batch of dodgy discs, but those typically meant the disc couldn't be read (it was a bad pressing as I understand it). Have you popped in the first disc to see what is on there by any chance (you never know....)?

I don't know if this would work (I have suggested it elsewhere), but if you do have a hard drive have you considered trying to install the disc manually? Like how installation on the 360 works for most games. That is to say, pop the disc in, let it boot, exit to dash, press 'Y' to install. I don't know whether that will work, but it might be worth a try.

Failing all that, if it was a recent purchase could you return it to the vendor for a replacement copy?

I did try that and I did install it but still nothing. This sucks. Thank you. I bought it from gamestop At the begining of August. So I guess...I am out of options. Thank you for your help.

Check with EA Support and see if they can do anything (link in sig or down at the bottom the page). They may be able to activate them for you if you can produce proof of purchase (I admit I just assume they ask for it, but also register the game here so you have additional proof you own the game); it's worth a try at least.

Also check to see what the manual states regarding warranty. I assume you're in the States? In the UK there's a 90 day warranty period where EA will replace faulty discs.

you don't say what does happen when you try the second disc.
You SHOULD get a requirement to install an update (Odd that it always appears) and..when that is complete..a menu should appear with a list of "DLC" from the disc you can install
