I've just downloaded the Black Emporium DLC, but my game is currently in Act 2. Can you only rename the mabari if you have him from the begining? I can't seem to interact with him in anyway.

I believe the only time you can rename the mabari is when you first "talk" to it in act 1 in Gamlen,s house.
