my DA2 is patched to 1.3 and has worked fine until half an hour ago then without warning the game just freezes then a message appears saying Dragon age 2 has stopped working its happend twice now on a new playthrough from shortly after you arrive in kirkwall in act 1 dont know if it also occurs later onn in other acts as i deleted my other saves

my game has been freezing recently and I was in the middle of the final battle. it has froze probably three or four times now throughout the game.

Just for the record I think Gorath is very helpful but I can see why tech people get flustered.

I think you misunderstood. You were quoted for emphasis. The comment about not hijacking threads was meant for the poster you were addressing.

Ok Game is DA2 patched to version 1.3 and runing High Res texture pack
Processor AMD athlon II X4 630
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4800 1GB with latest drivers
Ram 4GB DDr3
Hard Drives 2 x 500 GB Seagate Barracuda
Operating System Windows 7 Home with all latest updates

The game suffers a complete freeze on the loading scree when entering the blooming rose and Gamlens house but everywhere else is fine

Update
I reinstalled the core game and all DLC as i made a back up of the dlc files and re applied the game patches up to and including the DLC issue seems to be now confined to when entering the blooming rose now
if anymore information is needed just ask
any help would be appreciated

Sorry, was not clear FieryDove, the emphasis part was to both the original and the poster just above my first quote, because you are correct, it is needed and they didn't post.  The don't hijack part was to the poster just above my first post putting in another problem into someone's elses request for help.

I was in a bit of a hurry when I replied and didn't clarify as I should have.

Are you running in DX9 or DX10/11?
How did you buy the game??  Origin, Steam, or Disk??
Usually a freeze/crash at a particular point is corrupt data or install.  Reinstall is usually the best way to fix, so I have to wonder how you bought the game because it may be a corrupt dl which has to be fixed to stop the issue.

You may also want to include your audio device, and drivers as well as hard drive freespace on install drive and Operating system drive.

just an update the problem has since been fixed traced it to my ATI Card drivers which was causing the issue thanks for all the help
