I think the term  sidekick does not apply to Garrus Vakarian...

This is a man who was assigned to investigate whether Saren Arterious had indeed gone rogue.



And as Archangel on Omega.He was more badass than the Dark Knight himself.By doing good in a city far rougher than Gotham City.What Archangel and his team were doing on Omega.Should not be underrated.





To call Garrus a sidekick, almost strikes me as derogatory... <_< Why do people have to next to always look at friends or comrades and ask.Who's the Boss? Or who is the best? We all have a pit-crew - We are all a part of other peoples "pit-crew".



In the Daytona 500 and such events.It would be impossible to complete the race without the aid of the pit-crew.These people make it possible for the driver (or protagonist) to complete his or her journey.This is what Garrus and others do for Shepard.Or rather this is what they all do for one another.Everyone has something to lose if the Reapers are victorious.Shepard is no exception with this.

There are no sidekicks in Mass Effect, imho... And that's the way I like it.

Gosh, this popularity contest is bound to be won by some Mario's supporting characters right from the start.

Anyway, I just finished KOTOR, and I wasn't that impressed with HK-47. Mordin provides more lulz for ME2 than HK-47 does in KOTOR.

Overall, its just one stupid poll nobody cares about.

Not surprised, it was obvious from the last round, poor HK-47 he doesn´t have an opportunity against science, I´m laughting at the comments of people who thought HK-47 would won the contest because he won to Garrus, but even if Garrus had won he easily would lose against Einstein, it was a troll competition since 4chan and the reddit put its "claws" in the contest.

Quite frankly, I've been a member of GameFAQs (sister site to GameSpot for a while) for eight years and there are some things about that whole overarching community that will never change. One of them is that it's very Nintendo-centric. Characters like Garrus will enter but they aren't going to win.

I've spent a long time taking part in contest statistics analysis over there (more enjoyable than it sounds... usually) and it usually boils down to the same contestants... or in this case their sidekicks.

Gamespot is very, very biased...based on whoever is sponsoring them the most...as for the community, probably mostly Nintendo fans, although I don't have enough exposure to them in recent years, aka never go there
