Hi, I had a search online for this problem, and some posts pointed to a bioware fix post, but the post was so old that on clicking, I was pointed  to the homepage  I can only assume it was deleted since then. Also had a scan through the search bar in nwn2 forum, but to no avail.

So, before I begin, I read I should post pc specs, but I will forego massive data and post basics, as Im certain thats not the issue, its will likely be some corrupt file. However, if need be, I can more supply details:

NWN2 V 1.0
AMD Turion 2 gig
2 gig ram
ATI radeon xpress 1150
74 Gig space on HDD

The problem is in Act 3, I need to go to West Harbour via the song portal to reassemble the sword, but when I use the portal, it hangs on unpacking module. I have tried a suggestion I found on google, of renaming the problem areas' files with the extension '.old' at the end. Whilst this was sucessful in restarting the zone, it STILL didnt let me through the portal and hung once again. If there was a portal area file, I think it would have worked.

I hope someone has a fix for this as its an old game now, but I love it and would hate to have to stop so close to the end.

Ah ok, never thought of that!

Is there an in game auto patcher, or will it be manual. Also, this wont require me starting again will it?

The patching is finally complete.

After a long wait and anticipation, I tried it, and hey presto it worked! A bit embarrassed it didn't occur to me actually. The first thought when it loaded wasnt to play it, it was to come back and say thanks....
