Come on, all of you know you wanted one.  :D

So here's a thread to *SQUEE* as loudly as possible.  No need to worry about hurting anybody's ears, because we all love the companion we're *SQUEE*ing about!  (Posting quiet and reflective lines minus the *SQUEE*s are just as good!)

So, here's my little daily line of appreciation for Fenris.  It's very simple.

"I love you, Fenris."  <3

Considering it is nearly at the top of the page daily, its odd that Leto didn't see it.

Quote from "Official Fenris Discussion Thread":
Chris Priestly "Also, please keep the squees to a minimum, they hurt Luke's ears."

Also, that's more of a discussion forum for HIM <3.  I just made this thread as a place where I could post a nice thought about HIM <3 every so often.

Hey hey hey... hey, to be fair there's been a suprisingly lessened amount of Squee in there lately, as we've actually been discussing him. I totally blame the Anders thread being especially quiet lately, but.. *shrug* schemantics.

Fenris, you will never, ever have to be alone if you don't want to.  You will always have a friend in me.:)

Okay, I am seriously LMAO right now... because when I saw this thread I immediately thought "creepers.." and that just sent me into all kinds of laughter thinking about obsessing and stalking Fenris. I don't think he would take to kindly to it.

His official Forum always welcomes squee and gush. The hate thread welcomes hate. Fenris discussion stays pretty active around here, LOL.

The OP is oddly sweet.

From what I've seen, the Fenris folk are decent people. I doubt they would eat you for showering their thread with ribbons and hearts and declarations of love.

Totally true. Mind you it's still totally sexy, but they don't /slash well together. Thus, evil.

Actually, if you go by D & D alignments I'm a true neutral. I don't see a problem with eating kittens in theory (needs to be cooked, not raw though) but considering there are plenty of other meats that are more readily accessible (and the fact that I have no idea what cat tastes like), I really have no interest in doing so.

Oh and to stay on topic with OP: SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!

*coughs* Ow, my throat. Should stick to lurking.

Fenris, lay down your burdens.  Rest, and know you are safe.  Let me be your defender and your shield.  I have given up everything for you and gladly.  I will become the living weapon that makes sure you never have to worry about being enslaved ever again.

Out of RPing curiosity, what class is your Hawke, Leto?

The Hawke I played through DA2 as? DW Rogue. Why?

Oh believe me.  I've tried very, very hard to treat the game like just a game.  I can view every other character as INSERT-class-HERE with INSERT-STATS-HERE, but not Fenris.  I love Fenris.  Too much to let him kill himself.  Too much to let him kill Leto.  Too much to watch him suffer.  I can't.  I won't.

Gosh darn it ... I wish Bioware had put somebody else in the game.  ANYBODY ELSE.  Why not just have a do-over with the wisecracking Zevran?

Don't tell Fenris I said that, because I wouldn't want him ever to think I don't love him.  With all my heart.  <3

Oh. When I said that, I was hoping to get Fenris to begin to see that there was a different life he could have if he wanted. In place of him always having to "go it alone," I wanted him to begin to trust that I would do my hardest to make sure he could rest without fear.

Hmmm. I admit, I wonder how your relationship would go if you were a mage.

Hmm ... how would our relationship go if I were a mage .... Well, I have to admit ... he'll probably be a lot harsher and defensive at the start. (Remember, 20+ Rivalry if you tell him you're a mage.) I'm not saying it would be easy ... because I wouldn't know everything (anything?) about him right from the start as well.

I can't lie: we probably would get started on the wrong foot. But, he's against slavers and slavery ... so I have a place for him in my battle team. Being fiercely against those who would enslave others is always a plus for me. Hopefully, Fenris would start to see the good in me as well, despite my being a mage.

Even without Fenris, I would be a good mage. I would lead a paragon life, even if I did use blood magic. The only difference Fenris makes is that I would, once I see the paragon underneath his tortured shell, try very hard to get him to see first and foremost that I was not a bad person and would never "turn to the dark side."

From there, I could hopefully earn a little of his trust. Although, I would have to live very carefully, earning only +1 Friendship and +5 Friendship points.

The most difficult part of our relationship for me would be putting up with his constant wounding and hurtful remarks. I would probably have to allow myself to be punched, shoved, and beaten without retaliating for quite awhile, and I would probably survive, but only barely. Only because I know I can see the good in him. Even if he is abusive towards me. I can't ... I wouldn't ever retaliate.

Um, I don't think he's ever actually physically aggressive toward any Hawke; I mean, I'm a mage and rival him, so I'd have ample opportunity for it. I doubt it would be a problem for you; heck, he's even generally polite to me, and his verbal attacks are generally against other mages.

As another question... whom do you side with at the end? Mages or templars?

Well, he may never be physically aggressive towards Hawke. But I know I'd definitely have to prepare myself for it if I wanted to gain his trust. Listening to his words, knowing he could snap at any moment and lash out (he does, once or twice). If I were in a relationship with him, I would be hardening myself by imagining it and preparing for it happening. That dulls the pain I feel from his harsh words and, if he ever should become physically aggressive because he's having a bad day, I'm already well prepared for it.

Whom would I side with at the end if I were a mage? Umm ... as much as I'm all for my brothers-and-sisters-in-magic, I would have to say that I would probably side with the templars. Not because of Fenris. Well, not because of him directly. But, he would have told me numerous stories of how Tevinter magisters became obsessed with power and now regularly consult with demons and invoke blood magic at the drop of a hat. Even if my mage had never met Fenris, I still wouldn't support a society where "might makes right" and absolutely power corrupts everyone absolutely. As a mage, I would know all about the Tevinter Imperium, and how magic created a living hell there. I would never let Kirkwall fall like that. (But that's just me. That says more about me than anybody else.)

As an aside, I have several friends IRL who ... umm ... they don't act like Fenris.  But they have their bad days.  I've learned to deal with their bad days by imagining it happening beforehand and then rationally considering the options I have.  That way, when the inevitable happens, I am prepared to respond rationally with a strategy that helps both of us.

Ah. Well, when Fenris says something about that happening to the mages of Kirkwall, he's utterly deluded. They don't want to rule anything, and in fact, only want to leave before being hit with the genocide hammer. You're quite safe from that happening to Kirkwall even if you do side with the mages, and I personally feel that bringing Fenris through that is far healthier for letting go of his hatred.
