Yeah I went with what hurt the most, not the most damage.

If we are talking about pain - kidney cramps, breaking my elbow joint is NOTHING compared to the worst kidney cramps I had, those cramps literally made me roll on the floor and almost pass out, scores a straight ten on my pain scale.

I've been shot once...

Come on, you can't just say that and not tell the story.

Tsk tsk tsk, someone needs to learn how to dodge gunfire or just be ****ing lucky like me lulz. Honestly though hows it feel being shot? Is it like being burned, or bee sting, or stabbed, or is it more of like a force hitting you like falling off a roof? I mean I've had those happen and I've had shots to miss me close enough to feel them go past, but I have never been shot, shot someone though. But yeah thats not what this thread is about. And no I don't want to shoot myself in the foot to find out.

I may be crazy but I'm not dumb.

Hmm reminds me of my galbladder, I'ld been going to the docs for months with bad back and chest pain, never found nothing said it was all in my mind, dispite my personal history and pain tolerances. One day I couldn't sleep and was just cursing and raving, so I went to the ER.

Hooray! I needed surgery that night as my galbladder was about to rupture litterally then and there and I had 14 galstones. So yeah I trust the docs here.

It really depends on the site and round. It burns and hits you like mac truck... POW POW!

Let's just say, negligence and faulty powder load caused it.

I own and shoot guns myself, could you please tell us what exactly happened? I'm really curious now, because you can only shoot yourself if you ignore one of the vital rules of gun handling.

If you chose the wrong powder for your reloads the worst that can happen is that the chamber ruptures and the bolt / slide / cylinder blows up from the overpressure, but you cannot shoot yourself this way. Moist powder can cause hangfires.

I broke my femur once. It was Easter day and I was five. My uncle was chasing me through the house for one reason or another and we didn't know the kitchen floor had just been mopped. I slipped and snapped the bone. Was in the hospital for six weeks and had a cast that went from my waist to my toes.

Oh, one time I partially tore the ligaments of my knee. That hurt like hell.

I was skiing like a champion at Mont Chantecler located in
Ste-Adele. I was doing great inside the mogul track than suddenly the
little brat, smurf, wet behind the ears children blocked my path. So I
had to do the impossible. Lose my balance and control. I literally flew
over him and smashed myself into a tree. My face was bleeding and my
cloth was destroyed, but no limb broken. Her mother was close and
smirked when I noticed her. I know she was happy that I risked my
superior life for the smurf, but I just raised my mighty finger and
continued my way staggering like crazy . What the hell the little smock was doing here anyway?

Holy cow, there are a lot of injuries here on BSN.

Are we allowed to do ones that SHOULD have been injuries but weren't?

I've been very lucky,, I've been run over twice. :D

First time when I was a kid, sliding down a steep road on a piece
of perspex, ended up going backwards so couldn't stop, as I came
out onto the T-junction I was hit by a pick-up truck.
Made quite a mess of me, arm was shattered in many places and
my bone was hanging out, they had to get metal plates involved.

Second time on the way to work on my mountain bike, again
there was a hill which I was flying down at some speed, made
contact with a car just pulling out, this time, my ankle was
crushed between the bumper and the front drive cog, I know
this because the front gear cog was moulded nicely to the shape
of foot/ankle, ankle bone was a mess, they had to get screws involved.

Weirdly enough I never have an issue with airport security. :)

Broken forearm (I fell while biking in the Beskydy mountains) and broken ankle (a friend of mine did this to me during a soccer match, he claims it was not intentional).

I've been quite lucky, the worst injury I ever had was a badly pulled muscle during a judo match, thanks to not warming up properly. To add insult to injury I got inadvertently punched in the face in the same match giving me quite a decent-sized shiner.

I also manged to pull a goalpost down on myself when I was 10. I got most of my body out of the way apart from two fingers that got fractured.

Sounds like a loading issues *as in making his own rounds* or a muzzle loader back fire to me really.

Ive heard stories that very rarely sometimes in a surgery, when you are given anesthetic before operation, it doesnt work and you can be aware what is happening to you(feel the pain, god that must awful) tho you can't move your legs and arms(cant signal the surgeon, that i am awake, not at sleep), because the drug paralyzes you, and so you must get through the pain the whole surgery.

I've also torn my knee ligament once. The knee looked all weird and strange plus it hurt like HELL. I ended up having to tightly wrap it every day for the next 2 weeks or so.

Is it an injury if the doctor caused it? I had two broken ankles for reconstructive surgery purposes.

I wasn't the neglient one. ^_^ My friend was shooting his Tangfolio Compact and, seeing as he was trying (at the time) to hand load all of his ammo... there's room for error. I was in the next shooting bench plinking my Mini-14. He "misfired", dropped the mag. It was, in fact, a hangfire, removed the round IMMEDIATELY and placed it on the far-side of his bench... a foot from my arm... ******... Anyways, it fragged and some shrap clipped my arm and ruined my stock. So, inaverdently getting shot would be more appropriate.

And too little powder, can cause the round not to propel out of the barrel, which can create further problems... As in double-firing and blowing yourself to hell.

I'm an excellant shot and clean and maintain my own guns. Let's just say I don't shoot with him anymore...  NEXT!

Worst injury?
Mmmmmm, ok
2 smashed legs, two broken arms, broken foot, smashed left hand and the skin flaid off my back. All the result of a RTA in 1991 when a car drove over me. Fun times! Image IPB

The start of ME2 brings back lots of old memories Image IPB

I sprained my ankle pretty badly when I was a kid after jumping off a jungle gym at school. To make things worse, some of the other kids kicked me in the ankle a few times after that. It sucked.

October 12, 1987.

While doing homework, I sustained a vicious paper cut to my right index finger. The pain! The agony!

It was unbearable.

Year 4 of Primary School, remember running indoors and then something tripped me, fell right into the corner of a solid wood table and smashed all my child teeth, had shards of tooth stuck in my gums and inside my cheeks, blood everywhere. Least I got the day off school and an ice lolly out of it.

I cut off about a third of my thumb, vertically, not horizontally.

For me I can't tell you which experience was the worse because so far I've been the type who has escaped any sort of terrible injury. Although most injuries involve me bruising the hell out of both of my knees.

But the worst event was when ended up in a wreck on the highway. No, it wasn't my fault nor was anyone else hurt. A mechanical failure caused my vehicle to go out of control so I ended up in a roll over accident in a ditch. Miraculously I only had a concussion, some bruising, and aches and pains. The sad and stupid thing was that at that time I just had that vehicle serviced and inspected at the mechanics.

I'd had a few too many and I fell down the stairs right outside my house and faceplanted the floor at the very end. Had to walk to the hospital on the other side of town with my broken nose going like a blood tap. Fun times!
