I just feel the urge to point this out.

While I don't especially care about the figurine because if I wanted a fix of Liara like that, I could head off pixiv or something, I told my boyfriend I would buy him one when it came out. He squealed like a Twilight Fan girl meeting Edward Cullen's actor and clung to me for 2 hours.

My point is, it's an anime rendition, this is normal for such, some people will like it, others won't but nobody is forcing anybody to buy it.

Also I agree with your statement, if someone doesn't like or want it then they don't have to buy it.

It's anime people, It comes from the same country that pimped out ayanami rei, a freaking autistic character.

I'm autistic, it's pretty clear to me that Rei isn't autistic, but deeply repressed.

I'm just fine with the bod. She's using a tactical stance by keeping her arms together tight she has more stability when firing, increasing her accuracy. This also causes her boobies to squeeze together and look huge, and I'm ok with that :P.

What I don't like is how the face is NOT Liara. N00000oooooo

Holy necro. And the statue has been modified and looks much better now, there's no need to freak out over this one anymore.

After FFXIII-2 got N7 armors, I wouldn't be surprised if the ladies of ME3 got:

I expect this kind of design from anime-styled art and stuff, t'be brutally blunt about it. So I was unsurprised by how disproportionate it was.

Now, I would have been more interested in this topic if one of the pics had shown Liara's FACE.

While I appreciate your enjoyment of our characters... "emotional trauma"? Seriously? I would suggest you are over exaggerating this (or I hope so anyways).

thats why bioware is failing in the ending deal
:)

U guys cant understand that certain ppl did a conection with some toons (not everyone, for instance, i dont care a poop about any char at all :P ) but ppl are raging couse of this

after all those hours, all those chats, images, merchandising, marketing

Its like World of warcraft with certains characters (thrall, kaelthas dead, illidan)

Think about it, and use it as a big feedback, couse thats the point in all this deal

I'll say this, right here: I'll take a dozen sparkly blue starchildren and bottomless plotholes over any further cross-pollination between Final Fantasy and Mass Effect.

Liara's transition from videogame character to statue has left her a little more curvaceous than before.
BioWare is once again looking for fan feedback on one of the women of Mass Effect.
It's not FemShep this time though, it's the Asari scientist Liara
T'Soni. BioWare has teamed up with the Japanese company Kotobukiya to
create a "bishoujo"-style Liara statue, and wants to know what fans
think of the prototype.

"Bishoujo" is a type of character design seen in anime and manga and
refers to "young and pretty" girls. As you can see from the images,
the bishoujo Liara is quite different from the Liara that appears in the
game. The comments on the Mass Effect Facebook
page are overwhelmingly negative, with most saying that it strays too
far from Liara's established character. Nearly three and a half thousand
people have clicked "like" on the album though, so the the overall
opinion would seem to be mixed.
I'm hoping that BioWare and Kotobukiya go back to the drawing board
with this one. There's nothing wrong with the design itself per se.
Sure it's cheesecake and there's almost no way we're going to see
some sexed up version of Garrus or Thane or whoever to balance the
scales out, but it's certainly not the first large-chested, "sexy" Asari
we've seen. The problem is that this is supposed to be a specific Asari, and while it's a well made statue, it doesn't look like Liara, and more importantly, it doesn't feel like Liara.

They want my take? No offence intended but it's nasty and doesn't even mildly resemble T'Soni, an Asari perhaps, but T'soni? It just looks like some Asari stole her outfit and decided to bunch her breasts up as much as possible, sorry Bioware... no dice from me.

I dunno, Liara had really nice curves in ME3. The statue doesn't look different from my POV. Just sexier poses.
