I just got the Ultimate Edition a week ago. Was very impressed with the character creation screen, with the myriad of options. I don't play many games, but I have never seen this level of detail before in creating your character. I really enjoyed being able to adjust the finest of details, the most minute of minutia. Someone did a great job here.
In playing through the game, the world, interface and conversations are seemless, even the tutorial and area transitions. Everything is polished. Also, the game is very quick to load which I'm amazed at, given the graphic detail.
The voice acting and music are very well done and the combat animations are fluid and creative. I especially like being able to pause, zoom the camera in, swivel around and see all the arrows and blood spurts in amazing detail. Makes for very good screenshots.
However, I wish they would have included some sort of combat log with all hits, misses, and abilities written out, like Baldur's Gate 2 and Neverwinter Nights had. This was very interesting to read through and I consider it necessary to fully enjoy combat. Yes, all the enemies are dead, but I would like to know what part my main character contributed to the battle in round numbers. I want to know how often I'm missing and exact damages, and the numbers flying out of enemy heads are too fast to absorb. Like the screenshot history BioWare incorporated, which I think is great, I would have liked my combat chronicled, if even truncated to the last 5 minutes. They did this with dialog.
Something else I wish I could do is freely move the camera around while in tactical mode. Instead, I am locked in. Don't know why they chose to do it like this, but sometimes it's annoying.
I just got to the Joining Ritual part. That is where I'm at in the game currently. I also like the upload feature where you can view your game details online.
So, yes, I am enjoying this game. These forums have been helpful in explaining the tactics menu to me, so thank you for that.
My thoughts so far

The game has been linear thus far, but you'll soon get to choose where to go next. You'll also be getting more followers. Both of these facts make the game even more interesting.MyNameIsPower wrote...

If you go to your Character screen and click on the Heroic Accomplishments button, some notable stats are listed there. I know it's not the same, but it's something at least. You can do this for each party member as well.

Yes, I go into that screen after every battle.

So, I made it to the Tower of Ishal. Outside, there was a swirling smoke storm. I don't think my video card was processing it correctly, as the smoke storm created a strobe-like effect every few seconds. It was really annoying. I couldn't wait to get into the tower. Once I did, it stopped. I hope there aren't many more storms like this in the game.
I've got an nvidia GTX 570, which is a relatively new card. Anyone else have this problem?

I am having issues every now and then - oneday Ill post a thread in the forums - I have many processors this apparently can be a problem - there is something you can do - the techincal forums are the best place to discuss.
I want to add - the story has so many twists and turns, the dialogues and banter almost endless - you have to do mutlitple playthroughs changing out party members to experience the entirety of the game. Also trying out the different plot lines - earning different achievements etc - I can assure you your money has been well spent.
I have spent an incredible amount of money over 3 years into different MMO's but they are all on hold at the moment due to my continual exploration of the DA Universe - and I havent even got to DA2 yet LOL - it is also my first experience of a real RPG the others claim to be so but really they are not.
Anyway - welcome
