Well when you create a character, the most logical person to model it on is yourself, as you are one of the few people who you see in the mirror every day of your life.

Dont forget that sometimes we make our characters look like we would want to look... or if designing one of the LI gender we tend to design them to look like our definition of beautiful... or as close to it as possible

This is me on both counts....I can't see any resemblance between my Shep and me....this is due to a few reasons.... Opposite sex... Eye candy for me... He is of another race than my own (one I find generally attractive) and is loosely based on two people I know from that race....He was also designed to exhibit an Alpha feel about him.

Pfft designing an ideal looking fella for you to oggle...*shakes head*

On the note of creepiness, I am somewhat curious as to what Saphra looks like, but mainly to have a face to connect to the sometimes insane, mostly brilliant voice. Same goes for Zulu, though.

To take the topic of creepiness and not sleeping onto a totally unrelated path. My housemate just had a serious case of night terrors and screamed the entire house down. I charged to her aid like a manly man but now that its all calmed down and im sitting here trying to calm down.

Really nice work. I had insteresting discovery with my latest femshep, I can´t provide vids or screenies as she is xbox character, but anyway I noticed that her nose is moving in cutscenes when she talks. I am quite confident it is neither bug nor something that has been animated, but something related with certain type of face codes. I could be wrong though.

Hm, not a single one of my Shepards looks like me, going to do that with the next run maybe and try to do a "neutral" playthrough. Interesting observation, Cheez! You have some nice looking male Shepards in there and yay I'm not the only person who has a slightly tanned red-head.

I'm almost the opposite; most of my videogame characters don't look much like me. I'm blonde (albeit a rather dark blonde) in real life, but I find darker hair more attractive, so most of my characters have it. Most of them also look like they could be out in the sun for more than half an hour without burning to a crisp, unlike me.

<------- Take Magdalen Hawke, my avatar, for instance. When I showed her to one of my roommates, she commented, "I love how you play the women you want to date." Yes, I tend to make characters I can enjoy looking at for tens of hours. Sorry, but it does make the game more fun.

When I started ME1, however, I decided to force myself to make a blonde character. I figured once in a while I should play someone who actually resembles me. There isn't a huge resemblance in the features, I don't think, but she is blonde (blonder than I am, actually) and pale. I still gave her brown eyes, though, because I like brown eyes. Mine are blue.

The limited character creator is the main culprit for the majority of the issues addressed in this thread. If Casey's tweets are anything to go by, ME3 will have a reworked CC, which is supposed to give us wider options.

My only MaleShep is Sheploo. I just can't get into how customized MaleShep looks. FemShep, on the other hand, tends to work wonderfully well.
