 Im stuck only a couple of hours in!
Every time I recruit Garrus and am presented with the party selection screen for the first time in the game I am simply unable to make any selection. I can toggle on potential party members (now 3 including Garrus) but only get the error sound when I press select. The screen allows just one more option and that is to inspect party which consists of me alone. I am unable to proceed in any way and have played the game through to this point another time hoping to trigger the correct play but again I am completely stuck.
Please help.

That is strange indeed. I've never had that problem on the 360 myself. You're supposed to choose your two squadmates, and then after your two choices are highlighted there should be another button for "Accept squad." I'm pretty sure it was either X or A. Also, after the two are selected, if you go to "inspect squad" it has them listed as well.
