So I've been meticulously picking apart dialogue from the first part of ME2 (for a fanfic, if you're wondering), and I just now noticed something odd. This all takes place in the medical facility where Shepard wakes up.
When Wilson calls you on the radio for the first time, Jacob says "We just took out a wave of mechs over in D wing." Later, when you meet Wilson, after you go through the medigel rigamarole, Jacob's like "we have to go find Miranda!" Wilson says "Forget about Miranda. She was over in D wing. The mechs were all over that sector. There's no way she survived."
That doesn't make much sense. Jacob and Shepard just came from D wing, and while yeah, there were mechs, it's not like there were hundreds swarming the place or anything. And they certainly didn't see any sign of Miranda, who, if she actually had been in the same wing as them, almost certainly would've tried to meet up with them at some point. So there's a nice little inconsistency I just found.
I guess you could argue that Wilson actually has no idea where Miranda is, he just wants to get Jacob and Shepard to abandon the idea of looking for Miranda (because she knows he's a traitor). But... it still doesn't make sense, because then Jacob should just be like "No, we were just there, she's not there."
I know this is only a teeny-tiny little thing and the fact that I noticed it at all makes me just slightly obsessive, but I've never seen anyone else mention it!

Maybe D-Wing is bigger than just the part Shepard and Jacob experienced of it in the prologue?

The mechs Jacob was referring to were the ones on the balcony you couldn't get over to. So Miranda was apparently over behind that door they came through somewhere.

Ohhh, I hadn't thought of that. You could be right. That could even be part of the facility where the YMIR mech(s) were killing people, behind the glass windows you can't get through.
Still, the way Jacob says it makes it sound like he and Shepard actually were in D wing. But like I said, very minor thing.

So who was Wilson working for? His logs show that he was disgruntled... but did he strike a deal with the Collectors or the Shadow Broker?
As far as D wing... can't help there. I would imagine D wing was most of the area you went through before finding Wilson. There were a lot of corridors and rooms that you see through glass with mechs gunning people down, and stuff on fire.

The Broker. It was in the Lair DLC.

Very interesting. I think didymos' idea about it makes sense though. Shepard was being pressed by Miranda to get up and get out, most likely because he was in D wing and D wing was pretty much clusterf*** central.

Ah yes, I guess I had forgotten that little line in the dossier. Hadn't read it in a while.didymos1120 wrote...
