hello all first post on these forums, was wondering why no NPC/party member cares about me using bloodmagic in DAO or DA2? I would have thought that atleast some of my party members would atleast have took offence to it.

Because in both games you are one seriously scary individual. Seriously, did you hear about that grey warden, who slice and diced his/her way through darkspawn and any who stood in her/his way in order to defeat the archdemon? No? Have you heard about that Hawke person who went from rags to riches carving his/her way through any who opposed her/him?

That aside if they made NPC's realize you use blood magic, then a NPC might have had to do something about it. :)

I have my Bloodmage Hawke chastise people for using Bloodmagic.

All part of the plan...

I don't like to see my character wear skirts (wasn't it in Awakening where Anders explains why they wear robes :o ). Anyhow since my char is always a warrior, it bothers me that I cannot be a templar even if my spec is a templar spec :) It'd require a lot of work to make npc's react in case of Hawke being a blood mage or templar. A pity though...

What bugs me is that Sabation and Culin don't make any comment that you are a mage.

I could have sworn that Cullen makes more than one comment that show he is suspicious Hawke is a mage...?

At the beginning of Act 3 when my (blood) mage Hawke went up to Cullen he says "Champion, it seems you've become less a friend to the templars in the years since your ascent. Surely you're the only mage in Kirkwall that can approach the Knight Commander directly if you wish."

just FYI

at first, i was affraid that if i took blood magic as spec, some characters would leave of fight me. In DA2, i was worried that Fenris would get angry and try to kill me, with him praising my hawke for not being a bloodmage and all, but no. I was disappointed... I didn't even want blood magic anymore after that...

Everyone knows that apostate Hawke is a mage after the conclusion of Act II, but since Hawke defeated the Arishok, he (or she) became Champion of Kirkwall. The developers have acknowledged that Cullen didn't know Hawke was a mage prior to this, and said he comes across as oblivious as a result. The only acknowledgement that seems to be made for a blood mage Hawke is the tattoo on his arm, and the apparent use of blood magic when Hawke defeats the High Dragon.

Morrigan does sort of reference it in DA:O
When asking you to do the ritual "Some would call it blood magic but I don't think one like you would mind"
Or something to that effect I don't have the exact wording there

Which is the only reference I have seen in Origins and Awakening
And I do not have DA:2 yet

I have had this argument with many people on many different games, this is just yet another "Laziness" / "Producer Rushed Game" Same thing has happened with several titles, *Digs through his piles of games and notices they are all produced by EA* Developers want to give us players the best, most immersive games we will ever play, with every game they put their name on, however it is the producing companies like EA that say, "No we gave you 1 year and $10 million to make this game, no excuses put it out!" so they button it and ship it, unfinished, unpolished, un tested.. and it flops.. look at SWtOR came out about year too early, and it is already F2P after a year and a half. "EA title" incase you didnt catch that.

I recall another EA title a few years back called "Earth and Beyond" not sure of the developers behind it, but it was a phenominal MMO and EA pulled the plug on it because it wasnt generating as much money as other MMO's

it isnt the devs being lazy, its the production companies giving them insane short windows to make games that we the players want. so it gets forced out unfinished, and then we have to buy the DLC to finish the story all because EA wants more money... I am pretty sure if it were up to Bioware, DA:2 would be 4 disks long if needed, with every option covered.

Developers are artists, producers are the problem, do some research into recent events, and you will see Indy game developers are starting to rival AAA developers because they are allowed as much time as they like to release a game, not given a deadline.

Something as graphic intensive and story thick as the DA series, or ME series, deserves as much time as the developers want to give it, not a deadline from some stuffed shirt who probly doesnt even play the games.
