The first mass effect had a wonderful ending song by Faunts. I was really touched by it after watching the ending. Mass Effect 2 disappointed me, I was really expecting an equally beautiful song. Wouldn't it be great to hear a fitting tune after the ending? My choice is:

Soup-She had set out to find the sun

I really think it fits the general mass effect theme. I recall hearing something about advertising the female shepard this time - then it would be just perfect! What do you people think?

I thought the Suicide song at the end of ME2 was epic! Not sure why some people hate it. I listend to that vengence song and it's cool but it didnt really seem like it would fit in ME. I think that songs that are done with a full orchestra sound way more epic and intense. Like the Lord of the Rings theme or Star Wars.

I dont know, when you make a epic game or movie and the song at the end has someone singing in it... it just kinda kills it. The music played at the end of ME1 was ok. The music played at the end of ME2 was way more fitting in my opinion.:D

TBH, I wasn't a big fan of the song in ME1, I dunno why.

OT:
Victory - humble ending: Time by Hans Zimmer
Victory at a cost - sacrificial ending: A Watchful Guardian by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard
Loss - everybody dies, but insure species survival later in the cycle: This is Gallifrey, Our Childhood, Our Home by Murray Gold
Loss - Worst ending: Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel

And for the final battle: Adagio in D minor by John Murphy

YES! Hans Zimmer and James NewtonHoward are amazing! They really know thier stuff. Those types of songs are meant for epic proportions! Such as ME3.:D

M4 Part II.
Failing that, Brain Damage/Eclipse (www.youtube.com/watch)
Failing that, Us and Them (www.youtube.com/watch)
Failing that, MOAR COWBELL!!!!1!!!!!!one :P

...I would say Welcome to the Machine, but its lyrics make even less sense in ME context then the "Brain Damage" part of "Brain Damage/Eclipse."

Also, if it was something orchestral, I would hope Mansell would compose it rather than it being something from a different composer.

While I really enjoyed the club music in Mass Effect 2,  I did not like the ending songs from Mass Effect 1 and the end song for Mass Effect 2 made no impression on me at all - it was entirely forgettable.

With the epic storyline of Mass Effect 3, this Third Act deserves something more sweeping and grand - perhaps something like the film score created by Ennio Morricone for "The Mission" from 1986.
I'm not suggesting that "Ave Maria" be included - but choral and orchestral music could be effective and moving....  - here at the end of all things.

ME1 yeah i didnt really remeber that one but it was'nt that bad, but ME2 end song was amazing! Saying it was entirely forgettable is putting way to strongly in my opinion.

The thing that made it memorable for me was to do with the context of the endings. The first one featured a speech,
followed by an inspiring shot of Shepard and the Normandy flying off into the sunse- err, space. The second featured a big climax, following by the shot of thousands of Reapers. The first is one of those endings that make me think, "Okay, I'm satisfied, time for me to leave." The second made me think, "Holy ****,  wow." So it made me stay just reflecting on it all.

I can't recall a single bit of the melody in ME2's ending. I can recall most of the words and melody in ME1's ending, which is rare considering I usually ignore cheesy ending songs and do pay attention to good scores, but most of us can see that this was a hit and got tons of attention. ME2 sounds like an action score. It isn't incredible, catching, uniquely sci fi, or engaging. It just sounds like a score to me.

EDIT: And whaddya know? M4 Part II from the ME1 soundtrack page is outselling all the ME2 music still after this many years. I agree with what that says about the songs.

This:

Audiomachine - Lost Generation
It's the closest to the original Mass Effect theme, yet unique on its own.  :wizard:

Most of the songs posted have been kinda downbeat and slow, heres one with a little energy.

I'm seeing Shepard overlooking the devastation earth from a high peak, the remains of the shattered reaper army raining down, (ala Independence day) OR Shepard looking down from the observation deck of the Normandy watching the same, then this plays:

From 0:21 onward:

Lyrics from 0:21 onward

Only my thoughts will remain, nothing that took place will spurn my name.
I will start over again.
I fly, with teardrops in my eyes.
Will I ever return to places I have been?

Chorus:
Take to the sky!
Look back from high above!
I am on target for something beyond!
Take to the sky! Look back on mother earth!
Thankful for strong wings to fly, I will take the the sky!

I love it because its both sentimental and uplifting

Faunts M4 Pt. II for sentimental value, for crate a Pt. III

Zack Hemsey Vengeance is also good, a bit slow thought at the start.

They could indeed commission the creation of M4 Part III, no?
