To be honest, I don't want the ending song to be one that is composed by anyone other than Clint himself. Faunts was good and all back in ME1, but I feel that by this point, the themes in the series have matured enough that they shouldn't have to rely on works by other artists to enhance the game's repertoire. And I don't want them to pull a ME2 either by reusing a piece from elsewhere in the game as the credits song. It should be something instantly recognizable as Mass Effect, but also unique and memorable.

As reference, the most fitting end credits theme I've heard in recent memory is probably from Halo 3. In that game, the end credits song is a tuneful electric (bass?) guitar-driven remix of some of the orchestral themes from other parts of the game. It's instantly recognizable as Halo, and yet sounds oh-so-sweet and memorable with the addition of the guitar.

I don't get why so many people suggest Miracle of Sound for ending song. I really do not want to hear someone singing about how awesome Shepard is, when I already know from playing though the series that Shepard is awesome. The song just seems really cheesy in the context of the game. It'd be fitting as an easter egg or bonus song. I'd instantly skip the end credits if I heard Commander Shepard by Miracle of Sound playing.

But in the end, I'll take whatever the best song is that'll make the ending as memorable as can be.

It all depends on how ME3 ends. If it ends something very 'coolishly' than rock music on.if it's something sad (this is the end of Sheps story) it can be a sad symphony or something.

One thing I will suggest is that if based on choices in game you can survive or die, that they use two seporate ending theme musics. One lower tone for the passing of your hero Sheperd in his sacrifice. Another upbeat for those who live through and come out other end fine.

Aye, it is one of my favorite pieces of music.  I just wish I had video and audio editing skills, because I have some ideas for some of his pieces during certain scenes across the Mass Effect series.

I eagerly await the new music for ME3 including the ending song. I hope it will be completely new that the players can only hear it at the end like a reward for completion. ME2's ending song, at first it felt great, but after many a times finishing felt like those Hollywood ending songs. Maybe because it was all orchestral?

I'm sure the music will be great. ... Or it will be a great stain on ME3.

The only mainstream band that could pull it off that i'd like to see is Muse. Obviously there are other songs etc that i'd like to see but they would be the only ones who could do something to fit the theme.

However, Clint has produced some outstanding scores and i'd love to have something original created by him for Mass Effect 3.

As sad as I was that ME2 did not have a song like ME1 the suicede mission track was enough for the me to still watch the entire credit list. Everytime I finish both games I watch the enitire credits mainly because the end music is good. My fave parts in both tracks are always at the voice talent parts of the credits for some reason thats where both tunes really come into their own

If Shepard lives, a party in Flux with  besides the credits will be awesome.
If Shepard dies, , both soundtrack and the quotes as Shepard's coffin is laid to rest.
