So it's been a few months since I played the game. Came through here earlier this morning got talking about the game in the story forum and thought, "You know what? I haven't done a spirit healer since my first character and I never maxed it out."

So put the game into the Xbox and started playing. Built my character's face, imported a Mage Warden, and clicked on my name... and clicked on it again... and clicked again and again. The keyboard thing never came up so I decided, "Eh, who cares so my name's Marion this time around." I have no default Hawke names before so it's not like I'd confuse characters later. Sure I could have just restarted but it's like 15 minutes of opening and fighting mooks and then getting the character to look just right...it's just a name!

I start playing and the game's alright, ya know. I'm enjoying hearing everything again since it's been long enough since my last play that I'm not skipping any dialogue.

Then I go to name the Dog and the dialogue with Gamlen and Momma Hawke plays and after that it just goes right back into gameplay, looks like my dog's name is Dog.

This is a minor annoyance. I created a male Warrior Hawke to see if this was something terrible and persistant but he was allowed to be named so I guess it's a glitched character. I have no idea if anyone's ever experienced this before but I decided that I should at least throw this BioWare's way.

One out five characters I've made in the game was not allowed to be named nor was the dog. I don't know what caused it. But there you go. Vague and mysterious like. I imported the same character for the Warrior Hawke (again before trying to name it, to replicate the error) and it worked fine. I was able to name him. It really must be just this one character.
