Problem is that you can initiate a romance with some characters in me2 simply by talking to them and finding out about their backstory. As long as in ME3 there's a friendship option and just an i wanna **** you option i don't see a problem with same sex relationships.

I agree, this thing should be decided in character creation - if it's there at all, the way it worked in DA2 was just weird; "whoops, didn't mean to come on to you there..."

Having said that I hate that all this stuff is creeping into games these days, I want to play the game not have pretend relationships with pretend things on the screen.

...Wow. Seriously?

There's no way your Shepard isn't straight? THEN JUST DON'T PICK any gay dialogue options. It's that simple. The option being there doesn't mean your Shepard could have said it.

By canon Shepard, I am referring to the Shepard the player considers canon: the one they've spent two long games playing as. Since my Sheperd in both games was straight, I don't like that he can suddenly end up in a gay romance just because of a few dialogue choices.

JESUS TITTYF!CKING CHRIST

you want a straight shepard? say NO if a dude hits on him.

if they hit on you that doesn't make YOUR character gay, and like you said he CAN "suddenly end up in a gay romance", emphasis on CAN.

The fact that guys are hitting on my character is the main problem.

Worried you may give in?or who re yourself for points(i did that:(shameful i know),just say no and move on, you can even not speak with the guy anymore if you want.

That only means he is attracted to you and do not know you are straight, so you will just set it straight by mentioning you are straight.

I know, but it's still annoying, and it would still be easiest to be able to have the option to not need to deal with it in the first place.

Know what else would be "easiest"? If I knew exactly what will happen by selecting a dialog choice. If the game would tell me that saving the Rachni will result in the Reapers becoming more powerful.

And it's nothing new. Liara flirted with FemShep no matter what you did. All you had to do was tell her to back off. We didn't need a special toggle for sexuality at the start of the first game to deal with that.

Also, why are you getting so upset?

then you have three options:

1. tell them you're not interested
2. don't take them on missions in retaliation for the horrific crime of being interested in men
3. find a way to get them killed in-game

^or a mixture of the three.

I'm getting annoyed because you want a sexuality option in the CC just because you don't like there being a gay video game character. I take it you're perfectly cool with the fact Asari don't mind being gay with FemShep though?

There is a big difference between annoyance and HORROR.

i want an option of not being hit on, period, in real life.  becasue for some reason when I'm hit on, it somehow makes the relationship I'm in, invalid.  I'm somehow less "taken"  just becasue other people find me atractive.

/sarcasm.

being hit on by people you don't find atractive is nothing new.  there's nothing wrong with that and it has NO effect on your Shepard's sexuality.

however, creating extra flags that are supposed to be effective for the entire game (and incidentaly, if we're going to select sexualities, then they would have to include 3 different flagging situations.  straight, bi, gay.  not just one) would take up development time and resources that could be best used elsewhere.

1. Never flirt with someone of the same sex.
2. Congratulations, your Shepard is not attracted to the same sex (unless your head canon says otherwise, in which you've no reason to complain).

Ugh, that was sarcasm. My bad, I guess. I wish there was a special sarcasm font. I get taken seriously far too often.

Oh and glad you like my sig. I thought Namir was a rather interesting character once you got some background info on him.

First off there is no Shepard canon. BioWare has said this already. Every Shepard is different. To think that is folly in the nth degree.

Secondly, if you want your Shepard to remain a hetrosexual, then play it that way. No one is forcing you to make your Shepard to be bi/gay.

Well technically if they make a Mass Effect Movie, there will be a canon Shepard...just sayin

Unnecessary idea since you can decide what sexual orientation your Shepard is during the game.

A lot of people are unhappy that Commander Sheperd, the male version in particular, is now bi-curious. While a few people may oppose this based on irrational homophobia, the vast majority of fans are concerned primarily by the effect on Mass Effect's backstory. This is a major upset, given that the male Shepard was completely straight in the first two games, but there is a way to respect the wishes of those who want their Shepard to be gay while at the same time maintaining the character's canon:

I got that it was sarcasm but i was trying to say some thing along the lines of he shound´t fell so wierded out because women have to deal with it all the time.

Yeah the game was very good too  even if the guns felt a little weak(not enough ammo for them either) so i always had to be stealthy.
But let´s us not derail this wonderful thread /sarcasm.

So why did you bother pretending it's about "Shepard's contunity" when you exposed yourself on the 1st page that it's acutally about "ohh noes dudes will hit on me"?

I've seen that statement far too many times to still try and make sense of it. It's like saying a man has an allergy to water because he's temporarily stranded in a desert.
