Some mod changed the experience gain i get from killing monsters and quests. I get exactly 10% more than i should. For example Silke gives me 990 XP instead of 900.
I can't stress enough how much this bothers me, since i've looked at all mods descriptions but can't find the culprit.
Here are the mods i have installed
- BG Trilogy
- Ascension
- BG2 Fixpack
- Restored Textscreen Music (v7, two files - one with localized music files and one with the patch)
- Mini Quests and Encounters (bgge) (4.1) minor quests
- g3anniversary (v5) other quest to check
- Oversight (Just the Tougher Sendai patch) (v12)
- bg1npc (v17) banters for BG1
- bg1ub (v7) Unfinished Business, just added material cut from release and minor additions
- bg2ub (v18) Same as above, but for BG2
- scs (v12) Sword Coast Stratagems, enemy AI improvements for BG1
- scs II
- BGTTweak (v8) Tweaks for BGT
- BG2_Tweaks (v7) Tweaks for BG2 (and 1)
- eSeries (v1.8) scripts for party
- DEFJAM (v6) experience adjustments to fit larger games
At first i thought it's the last one, Defjam, since it seems like the most obvious. But i checked all info and it's not it. Can anyone help??
Which BGT mod gives +10% experience from quests and creatures

It's BGT, actually - or rather, it's the BG2 engine.
If you want to change it, you need a mod that hacks the exe, namely TobEx.

In any case, you should use uptodate versions of mods, so you'd better check which ones have gotten updates (I just saw SCS v12 in your list, while SCS is already at v19).-Disable Experience Boost
Disables the hard-coded feature where the party gains 110% of the experience actually coded in creatures.

I actually have SCS v19 installed, but when i created this topic i copy pasted the mod descriptions from here http://www.cesspit.n...rupal/node/1415 , to make sure i got them all listed.
Anyway, do you think you can PM me with instructions on how to disable the 110% experience thingy? I don't wanna mess something up and having to reinstall everything.

Firstly, in your install folder you should have a file called Weidu.log which should contain a full list of your mods including every single installed component and install order.
Secondly, you will have to reinstall everything anyway, since ToBEx should be the first mod to be installed.
For full information, google and download the Big World Project PDF (probably the first find on "big world pdf"), which contains pretty much every mod out there and information on when to install which part.
It is mostly correct, as it has been written by professional modders aiming to combine as many mods as possible (or more) into a single installation, and following it's advice should be a pretty safe way to get everything done (don't worry, you don't need to install every mod mentioned, only those that you like)

The thing is i have ToBEx installed right now. I think scs autoinstalled it, i just don't have that particular option to disable the 10% XP available. Can't i just install this http://www.shsforums...ds&showfile=871 and add the feature? Will it break anything?

SCS only installs one tiny bit of ToBEx. There are other mods that do this as well (pretty much all recent ones that hack the .exe I guess), but what you want is the actual mod itself (for which you've already found a link).
Still, it should be installed on a clean installation of BG2, before any other mods are installed. (seriously, follow the readmes on this - that's infinitely better than finding out mid-game that something's broken and you need to reinstall - only to make another discovery: your save games aren't entirely compatible with the new mod set-up)

Rather than reinstall everything you could just disable this aspect of ToBEX - you should be able to do this without installing the whole ToBEX mod. In your game folder you will have a sub-folder called TobEx ini installed by SCS2. In this there are several files for configuration settings. Open the one called TobExTweak and change the 0 against "Disable Experience Boost=0" to a 1.

I've already run the tobex .exe file, but i chose not to install the Core tobex, which is probably what Taifun referred to possibly breaking my game. I just installed the Disable Experience option. Game seems to run just fine.

If it works, I'm happy for you.

Well, i just hope it works well until the end of ToB. I really didn't want to reinstall the game and all mods again, feels like i've spent more time on installing **** instead of actually playing the game lately.. Anyway, thanks for all your help, cheers

It should also be noted that TobEx doesn't actually give you an extra 10% exp, BG2 does that by default. TobEx only makes it so that the extra gains are visibly and correctly reported: if you disable the extra exp in the ini file, you'll be getting slightly less experience than in the vanilla game.

Do you actually have proof of this? Because it doesn't make much sense to me.

Why do you get 10% more? I just stated playing TuTu and I noticed the same thing. I'm not hugely bothered but I can't really see the rationale.

From the TobEx readme (emphasis mine):
"Disable Experience Boost: Disables the hard-coded feature where the party gains 110% of the experience actually coded in creatures."

I think what the Fred means is WHY was this implemented? Who thought that an undocumented minor boost to the XP would be good?
If it was for testing purposes (so the testers would get to higher levels faster), there is the XP cheat.
If it was for the players, why not simply raise the XP bonuses for killing monsters? Takes longer, sure, but not too long if you use a little macro.

I was replying to AlexDeLarge (should probably have noted that). I have no idea why that design choice was made.

The feature is an answer to a question I've been asking myself, as to why the TOTSC level-cap is reached so early in a Tutu game, you can get to the cap before getting to the final battle, without even vistiting TOTSC areas. It's reached 10% too early!

So basically, i should keep the 110% feature because it's the same as the original game?

It's the same as the original BG2 game, but BG1 was obviously not intended to use the BG2 engine originally. If you want to be purist you could disable it for BG1 and then re-enable for BG2.
