Missing texture for all SoZ style dialogue boxes

I'm completely stuck!  Every single dialogue box in the new SoZ style is 'missing 2D texture'.  It either originated when I updated my video card, (ATI Radeon HD) or when I deleted all my overrides.  I've tried re-installing SoZ, but that hasn't worked either.  I use a -home extension on my shortcut so it links to a seperate folder for my NWN2 mods, so curiously when I tried running just the main .exe in my main game folder, the texture is present.  This leads me to believe that something is wrong inside my modules folders!  But I don't know what I'm looking for.  Please help!

The problem still persists, still looking for help. Will a complete reinstall of NWN2 be required I wonder? 0_0

Can you browse to folder

<installation>\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\UI\\default\\images\\generic_x2

? It looks like you're missing files

a) ol_pchat_background.tga
B) pchat_background.tga

or suchlike. These are controlled by gui files in

<installation>\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\UI\\default

a) partychat_ol.xml
B) partychat.xml

( ol == OverlandMap ) If you're using mods that change any of these in the <player> folders ( or if they're missing from the <installation> folders ) that could be the problem. Otherwise my guess is an Install issue ... highly doubt it's vidcard related. note that in the <player> folders the above files *could* be in different places

I tried copying the files over from my main installation folder to the other folder where I keep my modules. No change! I think this may call for a complete re-install unless there's another way :/

so, are you using a -home shortcut for each module you play?

but when you don't use -home the SoZ textures are okay?

That's odd if so, because if the files (pchat_background.tga & partychat.xml) are okay in the installation folder, then for this to screw up, the module maker(s) would have to have *their own versions* in your <modules/player> folders (and screw them up), that would be overriding the originals. Not many mod makers do that with these particular files, imo, and all that does not seem likely.

it's .... something. Perhaps try keeping your main installation, which is all good, right? but rename all your -home MyDocs->NwN2-><modules/player> folders .... and start again with just your basic <install> folder. ( Remember to update to 1.23 after re-installing SoZ? )

sry. Is this happening with every SoZ-style module? Or one in particular ( but not SoZ itself )

ps. Can you resolve this: you say you deleted all your overrides, but then something is wrong inside your modules folders. Aren't overrides and modules folders basically the same thing here?!? :| it sounds like you have a complicated setup going there :P

I suggest keeping your main installation. Rename your MyDocs->NwN2 folder as a backup. Then start from scratch with the -home Modules folders.

Each module, yep, uses -home. And I don't know which modules actually require SoZ, I just know that all the modules that use that style of coversation box has this problem. I keep thinking I might have deleted something critical in the -home folder without knowing it. And no, overrides is a completely different folder, usually used to store the 'United colours' override or something.

ah, well, i said what I know .. It's in your hands, Rule.

note, in my experience a -home shortcut will 'override' the regular MyDocs\\NwN2 folder. shrug* I can't think of anything that's likely to be so critical in either location ....
