Steam update fail

Ok so yesterday i went to play dragon age origins ultimate from steam and a box poped up saying it had to be converted to a new format or somthing like that, i clicked yes and it took a little time to convert then when it was done it said it had to update missing files and basically it dosent get past 0%. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem or knows how to fix it as its preventing my from launching the game. Benn doing this for a day now

Yesterday I went through this same process that you went through. Except, after I restarted Steam I was able to play.
Today, when I went to play dragon age origins, it would not let me play. Instead, it had the "Install" button lit up. But I could not use it because the game was already installed and i did not have enough room on my disk to install it again.
So I deleted everything in c:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins ultimate edition\\ or something like that and now i am downloading it again. If everything goes well, I will be able to play again in 13 hours...
The game is now downloading into c:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age ultimate edition\\

I would suggest checking the Steam forums as this seems to he a Steam-specific issue. You can also use your CD key from Steam to get the EA digital version.

grr its a shame i havnt got on here earlier, i had the install thing pop up yesterday and i thought what the hell im not going to dowload all over again so i pressed cancel. It steam acted like it was downloading the game again anyway though but at like 500mb a second which is crazy anyway when it was done with all that it worked as normal. Havnt got a clue whats going on there though
