Please, don't unnecessarily add to my already shameful shame.
I just can't find it, in this entire new NWN world...
Or better, the proper way to access the latest NWN update from these forums.

It's for my list.
Please...
Thanks! :P

Just to help assure you, the links mentioned by ShaDoOow are STILL directly from Bioware, they are the "old" links that used to be posted on the old forums. They still work. Bioware has not yet re-posted access to those old forums etc, and until that is accomplished the only way we can find things is to help each other as ShaDoOow just did for you.

Install guide including links to patches for all OS

You're right,
while this is a great help, I'm thinking of the player who shows up here for his first time, looking for some simple way to update his game, probably the very first thing a new player should do before playing. Before, it used to be right here, with a direct link in your profile even. Now it's more like a "good luck, 'hope you'll survive" kind of situation. I don't mind helping at all, like this "all-platforms" by the way  thread of yours does, but I like also do things on my own... and call for help when I'm desperate...

The other good thing being your thread being stickied, which makes kind of official, but these stickies are so tiny they're almost useless.
In my opinion.
Beside it's kind of hiding in the "NwN 1 Technical Support" when it should be first page.
I know if you're looking for tech stuff, this is where you're supposed to go. But it took me years to find those places.
Well, months... ;)
Meanwhile, I'll just add your thread to my list. 'should have done it long ago anyway.

Ive installed the 1.69 critical rebuild patch and the CEP v2.1 on my original NWN plus both the SOU and HOU expansions.. but now my game runs very slow and it's not fun to play this way!
It worked just fine before i installed the patch..
Anyone an idea?

There is a technical self help forum that will likely point you to a solution.

Most likely it is a video driver issue, as otherwise, the 1.69 patch changes next to nothing in the OC, SoU and HotU expansions at all, it is primarily bug fixes, and some new tilesets/content that will not be available in the original or expansions.

Now, if you inserted the CEP haks into those modules, that would be an entirely different kettle of fish and likely is the cause of the new slowdown.

Silverwolfie,
as for performance issues there are some more tips and tricks you could try even though, as Bannor suggested it is most likely that you need the latest driver for your graphics card.

Information about your graphics card and computer (system?) would greatly aid us in helping you....

Here are some more tips and tricks:

- Are you by chance running a newer Nvidia card? Say 200 series and up? If so grab the latest 280.xx drivers. That solved lag issues for a lot of folks.

-*(Only for Vista users) Not sure about this but if nothing else works you can also try turning off UAC (User Account Control).

-*If you have heavy lagg you should check the "Client CPU Affinity" setting in the nwnplayer.ini file. NWN doesn't support multiple processors. You have to set NWN's affinity so that it only runs on a single core. In the ini file set "Client CPU Affinity=1". If the line does not exist you can add it. (Some said this is not needed for Win7 users).

- Try getting an older Direct X version (9b I think it was). It should run together with newer version without problems...(?).
