 so i downloaded mass effect 2 and dead space 2 onto origin, and i can play dead space 2 straight from origin. Mass effect 2 however, asks for a disc every time. what gives?

Had you previously installed ME2 from a disk?? If so did you uninstall it before moving to Origin??

Seems like the uninstall didnt clear out the registry entries properly.
Easiest solution is to go to gamecopyworld.com, and download the no-disk version of masseffect2.exe they are hosting.

If you want to do it legit, then uninstall, use a utility like CCleaner or Glary Utilities to clean up your registry, then reinstall from Origin.
