I have the Steam version of Mass Effect 1, however when I attempt to install Bring Down The Sky I get an error message saying that no installation of Mass Effect is detected, and to reinstall and attempt again. I have tried that, but it does not work. Please advise.

Steam doesnt actually finish installing ME1 until you try to run it, and thats when it creates the Windows registry entries thath BDtS looks for in order to verify ME1 is installed.

After you run it for the first time, exit it and verify the integrity of the game cache. This can be done by right clicking the game title, properties, and tab through until you see a button that let's ypu verify the game. It should download BDtS. Also, check out the Steam forum here:
