So.  I cheated on Ashley with Miranda.  According to Bioware, there will be consequences, as there should be--I can't imagine either Ash or Miri being too pleased about not being the only woman in my (okay, Shepard's) life.  They're too mature for a catfight, but I know they're not going to like each other, and I know it's my fault for falling prey to Hypno-Ass (it calls to me!).

But here's the thing: I care about Ash just as much as I care about Miri.  From a roleplaying perspective, Shep's still in love with both, and from a player's perspective, I'm really attached to both of them and want the best for both.  Even if they're just video game characters, I really don't want to hurt either one.  Damn this game!

Anyway, I know I'm going to have to choose.  But I can't.  Even though, originally, I didn't like either of them and just did the romance for gits and shiggles, I have really come to care for those women.

Argh, it's like Virmire, but one of them is probably going to kill me.

This topic has been discussed ad nausem already, but I know I'm not alone here.  How many of you are in the same boat?  How do you think Bioware is going to handle the issue, and when it comes down to it, how are you going to handle it when you've got no choice but to break somebody's heart?

Yeah, I know I can mod or just do another playthrough, but that's too easy.

... Aaannnd I also sort of want to see what happens.

Well they could have an outcome where they both dump your indecisive ass lol. But I would say, its going to be one, the other or neither. I don't think the situation is capable of anything beyond that. Cue the threesome brigade....

Depends on how Bioware will define the "cheating" part. In some cases, people saw the Horizon incident as both individuals moving on with their life. I believe Bioware will have different dialogues branching towards different outcomes, either confirming that both individuals moved on or as in your case, choosing one over the other because you're Shepard is still in love with both.

I've so far found it impossible to turn down either Liara or Kelly, so... maybe? I'm not yet sure how that'll go.

Yep.  Watch me get shot down by both and go crawling to Liara for comfort.  She'll be all, "Oh no, Shepard!  You turned me down in the first game!  GTFO!"

That = exactly how my shep feels. WIth the exception of the ME2 LI being Tali instead of Miri. I really really don't know how i'm going to 'choose' one of them. I'll probably get through 4 playthroughs with this one shep and still be like "ARGH BioWare what have you done!?!"

I kinda sorta have a shepard in similar situation.. but my own preferences keep on bleeding over to her and during those times, she's staying with ME2 LI... but then the doubts start again and honestly.. most likely she will either make a choice in favor of ME2 LI.... or get dumped by both. it will depend on how the game handles romances.

We have to remember that Miranda was the person who built Shepard. It was her job to find out everything about him all of his choices, his morals, his relationships, ect. and but it back into his brain so he'd still be him. She already knows that Shepard had a previous LI because if she didn't plug that info in our Shep's head he wouldn't know about them.

Miranda logically shouldn't be upset about this because she should by all accounts already know about it.

By heart of gold, I mean Wrex, Shiala, the Council, and the rachni queen are still alive.

Also the Collector Base kind of exploded.

You know my opinion...

I just for once want to see Shep loose it... go on an angry rant about the fact that he/she is a human too...

I believe that this is the perfect moment to do it... and an appropriate one. If Shep says something passive and diplomatic (if you are a Paragon) or passive and douchy (Renegade)... I am going to effing scream.... and throw my Xbox 360 out the window.

I'll be the first to admit it - My main Shep was only interested in Kelly because he (read: I) kept forgeting to feed the damn fish.

And... I took the wuss's way out: Separate playthroughs for each of them. It gets sadder: apart from the LI, the playthroughs were exactly the same. Even ended up with exact same amount of Ren/Para points.

No such problem for Jack tho (playthrough where Ash got nuked).

I think he's joking, though.

I have the exact same problem w/ my recent broShep. Ash was his ME1 LI and he cheated on her for Miri in ME2 and he really does love both. Although he may be in a lot more hot water as he went for Liara, Kelly and Jack too. (Liara is likely not to remember the flirting in ME1, unless she becomes Liaribastila in ME3). I have a single femShep ready for Ash just in case the impossible happens.

Bringing Kelly to your cabin does not trigger the picture of your LI to go down.  Kelly is nothing but a pyeudo romance.  Same with Samara.
