Hello, thank you for reviewing my thread.

My PC meets/exceedes the minimum requirements.

MassEffect2.exe is version 1.02.

Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit 6.1 build 7600.

DirectX is up to date.

The issue I am experiencing is after EDI confirms the installation of the IFF drive, but informs the player that it needs to confirm the Normandy's systems will function with it. I activate the Galaxy Map, and the interactive (in-engine) cutscene runs it's course. The issue is when the non-interactive cutscene is supposed to play out, instead I get the Mass Effect loading screen for a millisecond then the screen blacks out. I hear ambient noises in the background but nothing happens. The game had been running perfectly up until this mission.

I have a hunch, if I knew which file the cutscene is in the ./Mass Effect 2/BioGame/Movies directory, I could add a .bak extention to it making it unreadable, skipping it. Or perhaps it is somehow corrupted and I could download a replacement. I've tried researching for the correct filename but I've had no luck. If anyone could help with this, or suggest another fix, please let me know. This is one of the best games I've played in a while, and I would like to finish it.

Thank you.

EDIT: Seems I have solved my own problem. Sorry for not thoroughly troubleshooting my problem, but if anyone has a similar issue, I replaced my existing load_f13m.bik with the one located here: http://tinyurl.com/4xftvl7 I have used tinyurl because the link is very long, I ensure you it is not a virus or malware.

If mods deem it necessary to delete this thread, please do so.

1) Please register the game on the forums. This is not an accusation, but given the spate of users with illegally downloaded copies coming to the forums asking for help, forum registration is the only way we can be sure we are dealing with a legit copy. Illegally downloaded copies include hacked and modified files which could be either corrupt, or full of malware. Once its registered, we will be happy to help. Forums Registration here;
