No, my boyfriend is a gamer too and he already knew it when I met him. He likes ME but on a "standard-gamer" level, completed it and then moved to other games.

Same for me.
My boyfriend played ME1 a long time ago when it first came out. Then I played it more recently, fell in love with it, and that's making him replay it. But he hasn't played ME2 yet.
He's more interested in the combat, I'm more interested in the storyline.
So maybe the storyline and/or romance will appeal to your girlfriend more. And as a disclaimer: I don't mean that most women are only interested in romance. Just saying it is a big appeal, since it makes the game more personal in my opinion.

Storyline appeals to me more, so that does indeed work. However, my boyfriend is so strikingly like me; he digs story, too, and couldn't care less about game mechanics. It's almost eerie how similar we are, now that I think about it.

My girlfriend doesn't really like to game, except a Kinect or Wii game at times. Haven't introduced her to it; she just shrugs when I play a game... that's short before she berates me that I should read more...

She was a gamer and had her own copy and it pretty much gathered dust. She was rather 'derpy' about it and for other reasons unrelated to gaming we're no longer together. In retrospect her attitude toward ME1 should've raised red flags LOL

My husband to be in 7 days *woot!* does not like playing but will watch. He watches me play them all, ME1, ME2, DA:O, DAII (sorry hun). He even wrote in my birthday card "the Maker wishes you a awesome birthday" LOL! I try to get him to play but I think he has watched me play them all so much, he knows the storyline so it's no fun.

My BIL and I are ME nerds, when I go to their house we nerd it up talking about ME and lately ME3. It's hilarious because my hubby will roll his eyes and his mom will to and say, "I have no clue what they have been talking about for 2 hours... lets go". It's amusing.

Nope.  My husband is not much of a gamer.  We've played Gears of War 1 & 2 and Resident Evil 4 & 5 together, but that's about as deep as he delves into gaming.  He knows more about Mass Effect than your average person who hasn't played it, since he's seen me playing it a million times and listens to me constantly talking about it.

Yep! My husband introduced me to gaming back when we were first dating. He did QA for a game developer, and I used to go visit him during crunch time, as otherwise I wouldn't see him for weeks on end. We loved playing together, and still do when we can, though these days it's more parallel play then co-op (I can't play most shooters as then camera movement give me vertigo). I got ME1 first and convinced him to try it. He just finished ME2 recently, so we can go back to playing while looking over eachother's shoulders without worrying about spoilers.

Lack of geeky bombshells here, not going to lie. If all my bro's (as in, non-brother bro's) aren't going to take interest in ME, why would they?

I would go to a Comicon, but I don't read comics at all, lul. Maybe a bit of Scott Pilgrim. I would have to dress up as Garrus Vakarian to even be allowed inside.

I tried getting my (now ex) girlfriend into ME2 but it didn't go far, she spent about 2 hours on character creation then got bored before the tutorial ended.

Sadly, no, though not for lack of trying. My boyfriend is a gamer but is vehemently anti-shooter so I'm all "it's an RPG, not a straight-up shooter!" and he's all "look, shooty gameplay! it's a shooter!" and goes back to playing DAO or Oblivion or whatever. I'm sure he'd love it if he played it, but nooo...

Haha. The fact that I played ME2 has been more or less swept under the rug.
