Highly, highly doubt it's ME3-related. I do agree that it indicates that at some point in the future Bioware will be making a game with online multiplayer. And personally, I think a tactical FPS-RPG hybrid game based around the First Contact War or some of the stories mentioned on Cerberus Daily News could be really freaking awesome.

At any rate, we are all in agreement that it seems to forecast a BioWare game with online multiplayer features running on Unreal 3 coming up, whether that be a Mass Effect title or not?

TOR runs on the Hero Engine, WAR apparently runs on Gamebryo, and their respective studios are located in Austin, Texas and Virginia, Fairfax.

Could be, but the way Casey has answered (or rather avoided directly doing so) the multiplayer question at conventions so far already indicated to me that something was up.

It could be a DLC thing... not included in the main copy of ME3 because I would understand that some class abilities would have to be totally redone in order to be Multiplayer capable...

Its either that or its a Multiplayer Coop mission DLC to play with other players.

I wouldn't mind multiplayer in a FUTURE ME title at all. I agree with everyone about it not being in ME3, it's just awkward for a number of reasons, but why keep it totally away from the franchise?

They already posted an opening for MP dev for Mass Effect over a year ago. Looks like they're going to be doing some QA on it to make sure it's just right befre the big announcement!

I would have to be something other than ME3 or a DLC for ME3... its its multiplayer v.s. you cant justify the use of certain abilities. Adrenaline Rush for example.... it would have to be totally redesigned.

FACT: they posted a job opening for a multiplayer dev for the Mass Effect IP June of...2010 was it? 

FACT: now they're looking for a dev/QA tester to work on an Unreal engine game, still six months short of release date

FACT: they've never said "Mass Effect 3 will never have multiplayer"

If you bothered to read the entire thread you would see that I did also state that Phaedon still has it confirmed that ME3 multiplayer was a rummor. When you decided to walk in half way through the conversation and put your 2 cents in I was offering possibilities for those people that apparently cant let go of the fact that ME will have MP in their perceptions. ME3 will in no way have MP... the only way they would do that if its a DLC months after the game comes out... In the highly unlikely scenario that they will do a MP this would be this case.

Phaedon is a tool, I don't care what his thread says. The FACT that Phaedon isn't telling you is that Bioware have never said "ME3 will not have multiplayer." When ever asked directly they bluff and dodge and misdirect, thusly:

Q: will ME3 have multiplayer?
A: ME3 will have excellent story!

Honestly, who do they think they're fooling? Other than mindless fans who just believe anything they're told whether it makes sense or not.

Of course Phae's thread isn't gonna have it listed before the devs officially reveal it.

Unlikely, and post-launch multiplayer seems like a hassle without some rather extensive pre-planning.

I'm still waiting for my Mass Effect: Zombie Invasion multiplayer mode for ME3 to be announced. Sadly, it doesn't look like I'll be getting it before release. Who wouldn't love ripping off the body parts of filthy, disease-ridden undead Asari with futuristic weapons and biotic powers, eh? Just me?  Ah well, there's always ME4! ... Oh, riiight, there won't be an ME4. My hopes! They are positively dashed! DASHED! Oh, woe is me. ...
