I've waited for this game for like 4 years. I've been replaying Planescape, Baldur's Gate Trilogy, Fallout 1-2, Kotor 1-2 and the Witcher, and their mods, like on a non-stop loop to deal with the anticipation :D

I've bought a new PC for the Dragon Age (my old one would probably run it, but on low settings only). I'm taking a week off-work. I've bought all food i need for this week, all beer and pot. I've told my friends and my girl that i'm going to another city to visit relatives. This is the Dragon Week .

Sadly I fear studying will be required on my half, though I am sure Dragon Age: Origins can persuade me not to.

My wife has lovingly volunteered to pre-clean the house, intercept phonecalls, make snacks/lunch/supper, rub my shoulders, "romance" me if I need a break, and sit shotgun rooting me on. Her only ceavat is that we go for a walk with the dog after supper. I'm am one lucky dwarf!

Hum...If I am to anticipate, it will be something like this.

Get home from work, play the game, eat and sleep. Work, Game, train, eat and sleep. Work, game, eat and sleep. Work, game, train, eat and sleep. etc etc.

I opened up the computer and blew it out, which sounds kind of dirty, but anyways after that I removed a bunch of programs that I didn't need and did a deep scan of the system. I'm going to defrag it even though I do that once a week and it's already been done this week, just to make sure everything is good to go. I've dl the latest nvidia driver and looked for a new xfi one but there wasn't any. I uhh might decide to actually clean my desk too. Also, I will do a bit of house cleaning on Monday and all the laundry to get that out of the way. I am hoping fedex comes early Tuesday, but where I live it usually doesn't arrive until around 3, which means I can install it and maybe play a bit while I make dinner...unless I order out. But after that I have a concert to go to so I won't get much play time on the first day...but Wednesday's schedule is clear. Also, I've downloaded the latest installment of Tales of Monkey Island, which will keep me busy for another hour or two. And then after that hour or two I've still got half of the first of the Sword of Truth books to keep me busy. My husband will not be rooting me on because he has no idea how to use a computer and will ask too many questions if he's sitting here watching. He can go watch tv or something.

Normal week/day for me, just going to play for awhile after work for the first few days probably then just play whenever i have a little free time after that, life doesn't allow for too much gaming here. This one should last me awhile.

Well let's see, when I'm not playing Dragon Age I will probably be eating, sleeping, stretching, begrudgingly going to class, trying to convince myself to do assignments and failing miserably, waiting until the last minute, then scrambling to complete it the day it is due, most likely.

I'm such a responsible student.

Oh I forgot, I downloaded the wardens keep dlc already onto my PS3 so I guess that counts as preparing for the release.

I didn't find out about the DAO until a few weeks ago, so the anticipation hasn't killed me.

On Tuesday I'll return from work, hopefully find the game in my mailbox, and load it up. Then I'll patch, if possible, and defrag. I'll play for an hour, but I won't be able to play much until Saturday.

Already done the prep work (uninstalled other stuff, defragged, etc). I pre-load tommorow and hopefully all will be a go Tuesday afternoon when I get back from work & voting.

I think you're pretty cool for playing three of the five mentioned series. Kotor I am indifferent to but The Witcher was epic fail. Bad voice actors, boring storyline and incredibly repetitive gameplay.  The saving grace of that game was poker dice, until 1.5 came out and wrecked the mechanics. The NPC's were darn near impossible to beat.

Oh, yes... I know that all too well. Luckily I got rid of that last year, but this year I'm stuck with doing everything at home. Which means even more disciple required... which means even more miserable failures.
Sadly ambitious, lazy and loving games does not mix very well.

I don't know where you people find these girls. My friend has one like that too - I seem to get stuck with the ****es.

As for my set up, well I'm taking a week off work to play it. Geeky? Yes. Do I care? Hellz no!

I have work the next day, but that won't stop me from at the very least finishing the origin story for my main!

I'm going to keep looking for a job. I have an interview/test for a potential position with the cops, so I have to go to that. I'm going to tell my parents to leave me alone for a couple hours (at least until I get to the end of my mage's origin) but they'll likely interrupt me to do chores and stuff and/or walk in in the middle of a particularly violent, bloody, battle or sexual encounter:

Mom: What the heck are you playing?!
Me: You bought me this game, Mom!
Mom: I don't understand why you have to play these games...*leaves*

Geez, I'm 23 and she still feels that I need supervision when I play games.

For the record, I've also played games like: The Witcher, Assassin's Creed, and Vampire: The Masquerade--Bloodlines and she ALWAYS walks in whenever a character's half naked/swearing a blue streak/decapitating someone...I just can't win...

I need my own place, seriously.

Game releases on Tuesday, so I will go to school that day, leave at 3:00, stop by at a store to buy the game, go home, play it as much as I can, stay up very, very late playing it, then take a sick day on Wednesday and play it all day.

Game's released on Tuesday. Getting it digitally through Steam, so I will probably be controlling my PC from home to start downloading it as soon as it opens up. That way when I get home at 11PM, I'll be able to play straight through my day off. (I get Wednesdays off.)

My wife is already planning on coming home and taking sole responsibility for our crabby 2 month old Tuesday evening so I can focus entirely on playing.  Oh, and I'm calling in sick to my job on Tuesday.

As for me... I'm thinking something might be wrong with my computer, which has more than enough power under the hood to run this at full everything.

3.33 Ghz, 4 gig RAM, 1Gig Video...

But I started defragging my HDD yesterday... At about 4 AM... It's now 9:20PM, and it's STILL not done...

As for me, GF gifted the game for me, figured it'd be something nice to do for me. And she's a more hardcore gamer than I am, so she's been waiting for this for ages. I've only been waiting a couple weeks.

While we wait for the game to come out, it's mutually understood that contact with each other is going to peter out and slowly become nonexistent until the game is released and we've each beat the game at least once... Or, if she can, she's gonna load it on her laptop and come visit me day of release, and we'll play side-by-side. Unfortunately, I gotta get my wisdom teeth removed day of, so I'll have to start DL'ing before I head out for that, then it should be done by the time I get home.

The only thing that kept me going through the Witcher was "collecting" the cards, I still only ever got to Act 3. I wish I had KOTOR for the PC because I just cant go back to Xbox graphics, and the TV in my room is HORRIBLE and litterally hurts my eyes trying to read the text. I might take another crack at NWN2(only ever got to the keep parts) but the story is so boring.

Lets see.... Tuesday I have an exam at noon.... I'll finish around quarter to one.... hopefully I can bolt outta there and either A. buy the game... but that seems unlikely....

My time is tied up with school work (gaaah...at 22 I hate college) which is a good thing....

My backup choice could be to... -Le Gasp- try and rent DAO or something....

Can you rent games anymore? I haven't done that in years...

For once I am kind of glad that we get it later in Australia. I have an exam on Thursday which would stuff me up totally. So hopefully come home from the exam and find it waiting. Games most of the night. Somehow manage to get through work the next day on no sleep. Then, the weekend is all about DA.

This weekend I have rearranged the study, in the process of rebuilding my computer and cleaning everything so I have a few weeks worth of laundry and groceries to see me through the obsession pattern of work, game, sleep.
