I'm having an annoying, but not game-breaking issue. When I start the game, it says that the "connection with the mass effect 2 server was interrupted". I can click ok, and then can click "connect to cerberus". At that point I have to type in my password. When I start the game the next time, it's always the same thing. The game never remembers it. I use long, secure passwords, that are irritating to type (I use 1password). Is there a fix for this? It was not like this when I last played it. Please note that auto-login is already enabled.

Info:
1. v1.02 (installed from Steam)
2. Intel® Core™ i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3383 MHz, 7.97 GB, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560, 1.00 GB, Nvidia Driver version 280.26, Realtek High Definition Audio (6.0.1.6299). DirectX 10.0  (Mar2009) or later. Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise  Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601).

Details
1. The game doesn't remember my password.
2. It started recently, after I changed my password on the Bioware site. However, I'm also on a new computer, and I haven't played the game in a long time. Multiple things changed.
3. Problem happens at start up
4. Replicating is as easy as starting the game. I launch it from within steam.
5. I have not modified the game except to add DLC.

it never remembers my email or password but once I logged in manually THEN selected the auto log in, in the Online option menu it worked fine for me. It doesnt work if you select the "Auot Log in" before you actually connect to the network.

Yes, thanks. I had to set the option not to save auto-login, exit the game, restart it, put in the password, and set the option back to auto-login.

I spoke too soon. It's resumed giving the error message and forgetting the password. It only worked 1 time.

I'm not sure if there is a solution but at least I don't think it's so annoying to rewrite my pasword every time I wanna play :)

Just so you know, you don't HAVE to be logged in to play ME2. It doesn't really do anything other than allow bioware to harvest play data and at one time give Cerberus News updates, but that is basically over.....so just ignore it and play offline.

This is what I do now.  Authorise once, then leave Cerberus disconnected.

I don't believe a permanent in game/patch solution was ever found.  A minus point for sure, but against the mostly great game that ME2 is, liveable.

A sensible solution, mcsupersport. Thanks. The fact that it generates an error is odd, so you'd think they'd fix that. I agree, though, that it's fine not to get the Cerberus notifications.
