I have recently purchased Mass Effect 1 via the Steam service, and I've had a variety of problems with it, mostly due to trying to run it on a computer with Windows 7. Mass Effect 2 has worked fine, but Mass Effect 1 constantly crashed, froze, and bugged out until I installed the latest patch (Steam doesn't automatically install it, I had to get it from Bioware's site). However, I am having a new problem: I am on the mission "UNC: Geth Incursions", on the fourth planet I think, right after you get off the Mako and enter the building. At about the third room, no matter what I do, the game crashes as soon as I walk through the door. The screen turns grey and my computer shuts down. I have no idea what's causing this. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Tried that, reloaded the game, it still crashed on the exact last room of the building.

Does your system shut down and power off, or shut down and reboot?
