hello all, this is my first post here :-) so hi!
so first off pc specs:
cpu: intel sandybridge i5 2500k @ 4.7ghz
ssd: intel 510 series 120gb
hdd: samsung f3 1tb
vga: asus gtx 580
ram: 8gb g.skill ripjaws x 1600mhz 7-8-7-24 t2
motherboard: asus p8p67 pro
soundcard: asus xonar stx
operating system: windows 7 home
game version: 1.02
so my issue is this, i have some odd loading times. i read up on this before i posted and understand that there is a known issue regarding loading times on the normandy when the user has a dual core running on anything but xp, that isnt my issue.
my issue is between everything else. im looking at some 2-4 minutes loading time, which is quite frustrating. my system is honestly one of the top tier systems and this shouldnt be happening. the game is installed on the ssd by the way. it almost seems as if the graphic of the loading screen has to play through once or twice and then it will load.
can anyone help me out? thanks in advanced.
me2 slow loading times on ssd + i5 2500k + gtx 580

This isn't only on the Normandy. I had two minute load times everywhere.Raif89 wrote...

Try running a program called MassAffinity: www.theplaywrite.com/tools-and-utilities/auto-set-processor-affinity-for-mass-effect-2-pc-with-massaffinity-fix-those-load-times/
The animation of the loading screens has to run at least once except for a few. You can fix this by replacing all loading cinematics in the your movie folder with shorter videos with the original videos' file names.

Check out Dark Glasses's blog. He has rigged up a custom .bik file to replace loading screens.

If it still takes ages to load, then there is something else wrong with your system. Also, given previous errors, I would also advise uninstalling any ASUS software that got loaded when you installed any drivers. Especially SmartDoctor and GamerOSD.

Bethesda's games, Bioware's games, that's about five or six. Not enough?

Any overlay application can cause problems with other applications (e.g. many games) that expect to have sole access to user interfaces. Games most likely to be affected are those that do not support task switching / alt-tabbing. Bogsnot1 is right.

In particular with ME2, those 2 applications are known to cause crashes when attempting to change your loadout by accessing the weapons locker either onboard the Normandy, or at the beginning of missions. They could also be causing other issues, but that particular crash is a known one.
