Firstly can't install it because i get the saferun securom error.

Secondly i tried to copy or extract the files onto the hard drive but that doesn't work because there's a corrupted rar file. The file is data02.rar

Thirdly now whenever i try to install it say's installation failed after i put in the cd key.

This is the exact message

The installation of Mass Effect has been cancelled. To run the installer again, please run Setup.

I just finished Dragon age and loved it so i was really looking forward to trying this game. Please help me because i don't know what to do.

AFAIK, that's already been asked and answered quite a goodly number of times, so Google should be where to go. Just add a redirect to limit the hits to just in here:

So basically your gonna be an arrogant snob and ignore everybody.

If you actually have an answer than make yourself useful and actually help.

Also don't tell people to use search when you yourself even said it doesn't work.

You ignored the "How to Report a Problem" thread, you failed to search the forums to see if its been asked before (which it has) and now you're whinging because you expect everyone else to do your work for you. These are user to user based support forums, and we dont get paid to put up with whiney prats such as yourself. Feel free to sod off and deal with EA Support, as they are the ones who are actually paid to put up with your complaints.

Do you enjoy being a stuck up moronic trolling jerk? Don't bother answering that because the answer is yes so troll away.

And the search function doesn't work so if there bis a solution for this problem then link (aka) be helpful.

You are the one who is trolling, is being moronic, and is acting like a jerk, and I will show you why.

And the search function doesn't work

Yes, it does, I just entered the core text of your problem into it and it came back with a thread which would help you out.

so if there bis a solution for this problem then link (aka) be helpful.

I also gave you a link, which you are far too lazy, or too stupid, to use. As such, I have now remopved that link due to you being too stupid to be allowed anywhere near a computer.

So, once again, sod off and deal with EA support.

You are the one who is continuing to troll. You have been told twice now how to search for your answers yourself, and  to go away and deal with EA Support, yet instead you come back to this thread to accuse others who actually have atrack record of helping out, or being jerks and trolls.

Mass Effect 1 PC & Xbox 360 Tech Support
This forum is for fans and owners of Mass Effect 1 on PC and Xbox 360 to assist each other with technical questions. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts or Microsoft, but fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here.

I guess its just easier for you to throw around baseless accusations instead of actually putting the time to better use, like learning how to use a computer.

No, I didnt miss it. Gorath tried to help, you called him an arrogant snob. I helped out by both giving you a link, and pointing you in the direction of EA support , and you call me a troll.
Given that neither Gorath nor myself receive any form of renumeration for all the hard work we do on these forums, there is absolutely no reason why we should continue to put up with cretinous behaviour from people like yourself. Either use Google as Gorath suggested in order to find the answer you sek, or go away and deal with EA support.

If by hard work you mean trolling then why on earth would someone want to pay you lol?

I have a proven track record of solving problems on this site. You have a proven track record of being a moron who laughs at his own witless comments, and attempts to insult the very people who he is asking for help from.

Funny you say that, ive managed to find other people on this forum with the same problems and you haven't helped any of them in the slightest.

So what? You've done a search and found one or two cases in which I havent posted. I suggest you broaden your horizons and look through all of the forums.

Ease up Bogs, and just ignore, don't get yourself back in the gulag over him.

Odds are it is a bad disk, usually a value games edition. See if you can dl from Origins or get another copy. This is what you would have found if you bothered to look much.

Thx for the help. At least someone here on this board is intelligent and helpful.

Its a shame the cd won't work and i need a new one, more EA incompetence i guess.

While their bedside manner isn't the best, they were correct, in that you didn't post correctly, and the answer was already on the forum. Having to answer the same question multiple times, tends to grate on the nerves.

@OP, People have been trying to help by pointing you in the right direction.

I to would suggest starting off in How to report a problem with your PC version of Mass Effect 1  among others; the sticky topics are there for a reason there and no need to go off on people who respond a little bluntly, and you cannot expect help without providing at least basic information.

The rest (you should know who you are), need not be so blunt and sarcastic to those asking for help.

Locking topic due to turning into a fight.
