TOR forums. Part of the problem is the mods. I don't feel that they're hard enough on the people that post there. That, and the SW fandom's tendency to overreact. I may not even buy the MMO because I know that those people will be there.

That, and Digg. And I guess you can count the Gamestop forums.

4chan > RPG Codex > BSN

I say BSN because I don't go to any other forum at all but I have...seen the horror of 4chan and the codex forums. *shivers*

4chan is amazing.

This forum is probably the worst. Still like it though.

Probably Bethesda's forums. I have to take Prozac after visiting that place because of all the depressing negativity and pessimism.

Teens against porn. Instead of listening to reason, they ban and delete all threads that prove them wrong. :D

I have never, ever seen a worse forum than The Codex/Edgeworks Entertainment. It even beats out RPG Codex.

I have never seen a more entitled group of online people congregated together in my life. It didn't help that the creators of The Codex were completely freakin' dellusional and as such fostered the atmosphere. I remember when their leader, Alex Wynn, wrote about how he flew to Bungie HQ and demanded to see Frank O'Connor, only to be "dragged out".

When you get up to THAT level of crazy, it is pretty hard not to be the most crazy forum on the web.

Then I advise you dont go to HL2.net. I browse it now and again for news on HL3 and I've noticed how negative everyone is on there. If one person is optomistic they'll quickly flame them and bring them down.

Seriously?!? So he tried barging in to Bungie's headquarters to demand to see some guy?

Who is Frank O'Connor and why did he demand to see him?

RPGcodex probably. 4chan is just an image posting site and I haven't been to many other forums. I remember a thread about New Vegas and one poster commented about how Chris Avellone looked like a f@?got and wouldn't buy new Vegas because of it.

It feels a bit lame at this point, but at RPG Codex gets my vote too. It's a perfect storm of vulgarity and clannishness. The comments section under most YouTube videos or any major news outlet dwarfs it, though. Too bad those don't count as forums.

YouTube comments, hands down. I'd give examples, but they are easy enough to find.

The only forums I've spent any significant time on were ocremix.org, nwn2forums (before the social came about) and here. I don't dislike any of them per se.

Though I used to frequent... *shudder* chat rooms.

Hmm, I've spent time on BSN, the Gamespot forums, and some old wrestling forum called "The Sledgehammer". I also once visited the RPG Codex forums.

Between those... I think the RPG Codex forums take the prize. One visit was enough to scare me away for good.

I'm not sure what the problem with that is. It's a religious forum dedicated to helping teenagers stay sexually pure. Yeah, they're going to delete threads that go against the express purpose of the forum.
