Her subtle racism and religious views just set something made me hate her straight away. She's just glorified bigot. I guess some of the fanatical Templars and Mages are the same in DA2 and I hated them as well.

Thats ironic, you say she's racist but also hate her for her religious views? Do you realise that means you're a bigot yourself? Lol!

Perhaps but I dont'care, the combination of those two and her dialogue made me want to eject her out of the airlock in space. And the Horizon scene in ME2 diidn't help. In fact, I don't find neither of the main companions interesting in ME1(Kaidan is just generic and boring).

Love: Ben(Full Throttle). A badass with a heart of gold. He also has the best motorcycle ever made, period.

Hate: Vanille(FF13). How many annoying skinny girls are you going to put into your FF games, square? (Yuffie, Rikku, etc.)

Most characters from Jade Empire just so cliche and boring.

I'm not talking about racism in relation to human races. I mean racism towards Alien races.
I dislike religion, particularly when people are zealous or being preachy. Plus, I don't think religion should be feature too much in ME, just doesn't fit in with the style(only in relation to cultural stuff like the Asari goddess etc.)

Hope from FF13 is actually just Shinji Ikari from NGE with a new hairdo. An introverted whiner with issues involving his mom. The difference is at least Shinji was able to literally "work" with his mother, in the form of an enormous purple robot. The other...just kinda whined a lot.

See that's not the impression I got from her(I seem to remember that she made a comment when you talk to one of the protesters saying how she agreed with some of the views of that pro-human group on the Citadel, I forgot their name)
If it wasn't their intention for her to have prejudices then I guess it was just bad writing on the dialogue side of things.
I suppose then that the Illusive Man is also misunderstood and actually is good friends with all galactic races. And so is Presley etc. the list goes one.
Also, Ashley's romance scenes were terrible(particularly that sappy poetry)

Actually, she hates Terra Ferma and said they are racist.

Only positive she said about that organization is founders had ideals, though now it's full of bigots.
And yes, she says Terra Firma is full of bigots.

No, you just completely misunderstand her.
And I just proven you wrong above.

Also many people think( not sure if you too) that when Ashley said that metaphor about throwing dog to the bear, is that humanity should throw aliens to that bear. Even though it was very clear that she said humanity is that dog and Council is the one that is throwing to the bear( Batarian Hegemony and/or Reapers).

I suppose then that the Illusive Man is also misunderstood and actually is good friends with all galactic races.

It was clearly stated that he wants selective( assassination, coups) human domination in the galaxy and that's human rightful place.

And so is Presley etc. the list goes one.

I actually liked the poetry part.
I can't argue from that standpoint though nor should anyone else.

LOL, she mentioned her faith in a god once in the whole damn game and people hate her for it. Mordin mentions gods once and prays for that dead Krogan female. Thane is constantly praying to a god and Garrus? Well I don't know. He probably worships his own spirit. I wonder why people don't hate them eh?

Oh and pretty much every Asari mentions their goddess that they worship.

Yes Da2 was truly gripping stuff, thats why it languishes at the bottom of my game pile, it truly was a stimulating experience that earned it 1.5 playthroughs and an uninstall. With BioWare games you cant separate the plot from the gameplay. The companions which in the past had mere subplots are now integral parts of the whole.
So whereas you are of the opinion that the characters were gems among a great steaming dungpile i ferevently disagree.
